Yeah, especially considering the fact that doing rdls with 100kg to warm up today felt weirdly heavy when the day before I had literally thrown it into the air!
your progress at the moment is about 10x as fast as mine strength wise! need to get on your level fast. what you weighing now? im only hitting 190ish mornings at the moment, too lean for the strengthz
Between 172-175lbs. Weight is oh so slowly creeping up, if I can get to 175lbs as a steady morning weight by the end of the year I’ll be happy enough. Thanks for checking in!
Ah right, how tall are you again? Your getting pretty strong for that weight, good work.
Probably about 5’10, maybe closer to 5’11. So in short, small for my height!

Ah right, I’m 5ft 10"… the great thing is… if your this strong already at that weight, you should be at beastmode by the time your like 190+ ! Exciting

With the cleans, I just think its a case of my technique being way better than my strength

That considered, you’ve still come super far on your strength lifts its all good
A. 5/3/1 Bench:
Barx10
40kgx10
60kgx5
62.5kgx5
70kgx5
80kgx8 (Possible PR, Decent enough, had 1 or 2 grinders left)
B. Close Grip Bench:
75kgx5
80kgx5
90kgx2+1f
85kgx5 (+2 Pr)
65kgx13 (WEAK)
C. Chins:
5reps + 15kg (3 sets)
10 @ BW (2 sets)
D. DB Floor Press/SS/Incline Flies:
5 sets, dat upper chest pump
E. Ez Curls:
3 heavy sets
F. Barbell Abs rollouts:
5 sets
Notes:
Decent training, pressing felt strong-ish despite having a tweaked shoulder. Close grip seems to be stalling somewhat so I’ll have to figure a way of bringing it up. Haven’t added much to my reps at 90kg in a few weeks.
whats up broham? Looks like things are right on track right now… Cleans seems to be just shooting up and you’re hitting PR’s. Thats awesome man! Bench PR too? Siiiiiick.

Keep on keeping on brother
Thanks for checking in, good to have you back on the boards!
A. Cleans (Speed/Tech focus):
60kgx3 x2
70kgx3
80kgx3
85kgx1 x3
90kgx1
95kgx1 x5 (95 is starting to get pretty snappy on the pull)
B. Pendlay Rows:
60kgx10
70kg10 x2
75kgx5 x2 (Pr)
C. Snatch High Pulls:
60kgx10
70kgx5 x2
75kgx5 x2
Notes:
Solid training. Cleans felt shit at first but I slowly found my groove. 95kg is starting to feel nice and smooth on the pull, only sticking point is the squat back up. Definitely need to keep hammering my front squats so I can make some real progress. Diet for the last 2 days has consisted mostly of mince pies, hoping I can get myself back on track this week…
Notes:
Among the worst training sessions I’ve had today. No intensity or focus what so ever, just couldn’t find my grove. Everything felt heavier than it should of. I’ll just put it down to a lack of sleep and feeling shitty all day and move on.
A. Front Squats 5/3/1:
Barx10
50kgx10
60kgx5
77.5kgx3
90kgx3
100kgx5 (WEAK. Bar hit the pins on the last two reps and lost all tightness…)
B. Oly Back Squats:
90kgx5
110kgx3
120kgx3 (PR. Wanted one, got 3 instead.)
110kgx5
100kgx10
C. Rdls:
90kgx15 x3 (Stupid hard, wanted to puke)
100kgx8 x2
Notes:
Decent training. Front squats feeling weak and going too deep and hitting the pins fucked me over on my top set… Happy enough with the back squats, slowly getting stronger with them.

Good squatting man. Getting pretty solid.
Thanks, much appreciated as always. Definitely need to bring it up a bunch though, toying with just squatting 3 to 4 times a week and seeing how it treats me. I absolutely need to front squat more though. On the flip side, this is the first time in a couple of months my squat had progressed week after week in a while. Feels good!

if my focus was olympic lifting, I’d for sure squat every day. Average Bro’s gym for-the-win
Good work as ever. Not far off that “oh so satisfiying” 2 plate close grip. Or at least it was for me after only handling it on flat bench a couple times before! I just gotta stay ahead of you best I can at this stage!

Thanks! I’m hoping I can regular grip-width bench 100kg at this stage. I’ll retest my max in a month or so as I really want to rep 100kg when I get it.

would be pretty sweet at your weight! I should be getting some olympic lifting shoes as a christmas present so might have to play around with the oly lifts and throw in plenty of front squats etc. as assistance to make good use of them
