Good to see the plan to not deadlift went out the window.

The triple on 160 probably cost you. If you can triple that, you can pull 170.
I think I need a quick trip to rhodestown to be honest.
Fat, bloated and strong is the only way to go through life.

sick DL pr! Keep it up brother

Sweet DL dude, youll pull 170 real soon. I can feel it!

11th November:

A. Bench:
Barx10
40kgx5
60kgx5 (Paused)
70kgx5 (Paused)
80kgx3 (Paused)
85kgx1 (Paused)
90kgx1 (Touch n’ Go)
92.5kgx1 (PR- Touch n’ go)

B. Close Grip Bench:
85kgx3
87.5kgx2
90kgx2 (+1 From last week)
60kgx25 (Triceps literally wanted to die after this burnout set…)

C. Close Grip Underhand chins:
10/10/10/8/7/6

D. Hanging leg raises /ss/ Cheat hammer curls
4 sets

Notes:
Decent bench training. Decided my upper body didn’t fancy a deload so went heavy instead! Strength was there, the single at 92.5kg wasn’t much of a grinder which was nice. Think I definitely have 100kg in me within the next week or two.

Maybe give it a month, it depends. Might do another 2 cycles of 5/3/1, then do a max testing week. Who knows, I’m a strength renegade chasing dat feelll.

100kg. get it.

Don’t worry, I will. When I get to 100kg, I want to rep it first time!

Man, your getting strong so quickly its untrue. Not long till you’ll be beating me if I don’t step up my game/gain dat weightz. Strong work.

My fat gain hasn’t been too horrendous in hindsight. I’m definitely slowly accumulating bits (mainly lower abs and back/lower back), but every once in a while in the morning I sometimes have visible abs :stuck_out_tongue:

This is the key to big lifts. Well done.

I’m am literally using my power belly leverages for everything I do now.
Squatting? LEVERAGES
Deadlifting? Leverages
Making a sandwich? LEVERAGES

Dude havent checked out your logs in a while but holy shit - nice numbers! Definately give motivation to see others pulling numbers like that. I’mma fuck that bench up tomorrow! seriously though, great stuff!

Thanks, appreciate it. Make that bar your bitch!

Will be doing a slightly different template starting this new cycle of 5/3/1. Taking out deadlifts for a few months so I can focus on getting my cleans up. Having deadlifts every week was doing my cleans/snatches no favours as it fatigued my lower back too much and reinforced bad form mechanics when doing cleans/snatches. As such, I won’t be doing any type of conventional deadlift from the floor other than sporadically every few months. My training will pan out something like this:

Day 1: Cleans, 5/3/1 OHP + Push press

Day 2: 5/3/1 Front squat, back squat, RDL

-rest day

Day 3:Clean and jerk + clean pulls

Day 4: 5/3/1 Bench Press, CGBP, chins, bicep work

Day 5: Snatch, light snatch pulls

-rest day

I’ll run this as is for a few cycles and then reassess and tweak as needed.

November 14th:

A. Clean and Jerks:
50kgx5 x2
60kgx3 x2
70kgx3
80kgx1 x3
85kgx1 (Jerk Pr-Last time I Jerked this, I had to press slightly to lock it out)
90kgx1 (Just missed the Jerk)
92.5kg (Clean Pr! Didn’t attempt the jerk, but the clean felt awesome)

B. 5/3/1 Military Press:
Barx10
40kgx5
42.5kgx5
50kgx5
60kgx5 (Just hit the prescribed reps)

C. Push Press:
70kgx5 x3
75kgx3 x2

Notes:
First day back training after last weeks deload. Was feeling decent, knee wasn’t too bad fortunately. Little bit of tenderness at first, but once I warmed up properly it started to feel fine. Cleans took a bit to get going as I have stopped doing them in front of a mirror as I previously did so it took a bit to find my groove again without a visual aid. My form definitely felt different/better not in front of a mirror though so that is for sure a plus! Happy enough with the Clean PR as the initial pull didn’t feel too bad. The only stalling was locking out the front squat which I had to grind through slightly. Just missed the jerk on the 90kg clean which I was pissed about, I got under it but it shifted forwards slightly and I had to bail it. Still, hopefully I will have it in the bag by next week. Military pressing and Push presses were slightly less than as the jerks took it out of me quite a bit. I will try to stick to just cleans on mondays from now on so I can really push the pressing movements.
