It kind of crushed my man-junk a bit, but having traps I can snuggle up in for winter will be worth it! [/quote]

I feel you on that. Unfortunately

Good win for the Dubs I heard. I didnt stay up for it but my mother rang me in the middle of the night half pissed to tell me about it. She said her nerves were shattered. Sounded like a good match.

Did ya watch the rugby? Great watching it the pub here and beating the Aussies! Fantastic win.

It was a great match, never been in such suspense during the final 5 minutes before! Dublin was mental after it. Rugby was great too, nice to see the Aussies getting nice and humbled! Great weekend for Irish sport all round really.

lol

big traps just look bad ass. Big traps and big forarms are the easiest way to show you’re serious about weight lifting IMO

Yeah totally, I always like to focus my training around muscles that make me look good in a tshirt. Ripped abs will not, big ass traps will!

20th September:

A. Military Press:
20kgx5
30kgx5
35kgx3
40kgx5
45kgx5
52.5kgx7
60kgx3 (Pr!)

B. Dips (@bodyweight):
15/15/12/12/11

C. Pushpress:
50kgx5
60kgx5
65kgx5
70kgx4x2 (Much easier than last time)

D. Hanging leg raises:
15/15/11

Notes:
Solid session today, back on the 5/3/1 train as of today. Skewing the assistance slightly as my assistance stuff will be skewed as much towards oly variations as possible. Decided to throw in the 60kg set of mil press on a whim and surprised myself. Didn’t think I could rep 60kg once, so to do it 3 times was a big pr. The reps felt easy too. I know this is a very small weight in comparison to some of the pressers on tnation, but I’ve had shoulder issues for a long time (an am currently still working around them) so this was a milestone for me of sorts. Didn’t up the weight or reps on the push press as I’m deloading somewhat on this move to get my reps much smoother looking. Going to hit up some deads tomorrow. Genuinely scared with anticipation as I haven’t done straight deads in over a month…

Oh hell yes I agree with this.

Massive forearms = a dude that likes to lift heavy shit.

And Ellis, my man nice work on the Mil press its good stuff.

Good work man! Getting a plate a side is a big step in militaries!

21st September:

A. Deadlift:
75kgx5
85kgx5
90kgx3
100kgx5
112.5kgx5
127.5kgx10

B. Pull Ups (Overhand)
14/9/9/7/7

C. Power Cleans:
60kgx5
65kgx5
70kgx5
80kgx3
90kgx1 x3

D. Snatch Grip Pulls:
60kgx8 x2
70kgx5 x2

Notes:
Good workout, using a training max of 150kg for this cycle of 5/3/1 to make sure I don’t stall (actual 1rm is about 160/165kg). Power cleans after the deads killed me! Didn’t feel as strong on these as last week hence the singles at 90kg when I repped it last week. From this session on I think I will put power cleans before deads and only do cleans in sets of 3. Sets of 5 just fatigue me and my form starts to suffer.

Todays motivation:

Not a bad song to deadlift to!

Jellay of ur power clean!

Thanks brother! Gonna stop adding any real weight to them for a week or so until I get my form to where I want it to be.

Was going to go in and work on some Snatch technique today but decided against it, have been feeling pretty run down lately and decided and extra few hours in bed was worth it in the long run. Did an extra long foam rolling session tonight in preparation for a bench workout tomorrow.

September 22nd:

A. Bench:
40kgx5
45kgx5
50kgx3
60kgx5
65kgx5
72.5kgx8

B. Hanging Leg Raises (Toes to bar):
8/9/9/7

C. Close Grip Bench:
60kgx8
67.5kgx8
72.5kgx5 (PR- felt easy!)
75kgx4 (Pr also, felt eeeee-zzzz)

D. Hang Snatches:
Just form work today, worked up to 45kg for a bunch of singles.

Notes:
Good workout today, bench felt sluggish as usual. Close grip felt strong and smooth, as usual. I seem to be a much better bencher when I go close grip, I’m way more stable on the bench and felt a tonne tighter. Weird… Hang Snatches felt nice, my speed under the bar was on point. Even my coach said my speed looked much better than usual!

Great work on the close-grip… the good thing about them is regardless of how much you actually like the flat-bench… if you build a huge-ass CGBP… your bench will also be huge. Heh.

Nice bench man, your making it look easy son. Btw I have 3 or 4 books on paleo which ill email over to you in the next day or two, just gotta find em.

The paleo solution is utter shit but I defiantly recommend neantherthin.

September 23rd:

A. Front Squat:
50kgx5
55kgx5
60kgx3
65kgx5
75kgx5
85kgx8 (Would of got more but my fingers got tired holding the bar…)

B. Back Squats:
60kgx5 x2
80kgx5 x2
90kgx5
100kgx5
105kgx1 x3

C. Db Walking Lunges:
3 sets of 15 (per leg) with 25kg Dbs

D. Snatches:
Did 30 minutes worth, worked up to 50kg for a bunch of very easy singles!

Notes:
5/3/1-ing my front squats instead of back squats because right now, working towards an Oly comp in the future, a strong front squat is my focus. Got my Oly coach to check my back squat form and he helped me with a couple of issues I was having. He got me to bring my stance in which really seemed to fix the issue I was having with my BS. I definitely felt stronger/more stable with the narrower stance, I wasn’t getting stuck in the hole like with my old, much wider stance.

Won’t be able to lift for the next 3-4 days or so as I’m away for one last weekend before I start college on Monday. Hopefully I don’t get too weak/soft in those 3 days…

Nice fronts bro, yall is putting in work

Currently sitting in an airport in Estonia waiting for my flight back to Dublin. Had an awesome trip but I really can’t wait to get back to hitting the Iron. My flight back should get me back in Ireland for about 5pm so hopefully I can get a quick and dirty shoulder session in tonight!
