My sister used to have a fila, but she was attached only to her and she just barely tolerated anyone else. She ended up getting rid of her because the dog started to snap at anyone who came near her.

Louie with Monkey, his lover. He’s carried Monkey around by the mouth since he was a kitten. The other pets won’t touch Monkey - he’s Louie’s. Late at night, Louie will pick Monkey up and howl all the way up the stairs to bed.

Ella, the Lab/whatever mix who is the best dog I’ve ever had. Hubby went with his roommate/ex girlfriend to pick out a dog from the shelter. The workers brought Ella (f/k/a “Laddie”) out, and she crawled into hubby’s lap and wouldn’t leave. She’s wonderful.
Me, holding Elvis. He was not pleased. We went into the store to buy cat litter, and came out with cat litter and a kitten. (fwiw, “Recycled Critter Rescue,” I don’t support pet stores that sell…pets.)
Elvis is an attention whore and loves us, but hides from everyone else. Our friends were cat sitting and thought they’d accidentally let him out until they found him, an hour later, burrowed at the foot of our bed, terrified.
He will come out and love on anyone if you have crab or fish.
