People strike back at the "healthcare" industry

It is called a thought experiment zecarlo, which requires a bit of imagination. They aren’t for everyone.

A lot of economics problems make more sense when you consider them as resource allocation problems.

In the case of the UK the question is, do the resources needed to provide the type of care desired even exist? And the answer is no.

No different system would have saved healthcare in the UK on aggregate which makes it a silly case study. You need to find something comparable in order to draw inferences.

If you want to just say “socialism” and not think any deeper about it you can but it’s much cooler if you just say “fuck off book nerd” and don’t write an essay on it

Thats a big problem with social security too. People are outliving their value by a wide margin. Like, too wide.

I posted a handful of examples at your request a long time ago, but your reply was something along the lines of either

“That’s retarded” with zero discussion of the topic at hand, or “I have read Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol 477 times already this December” and I wasn’t sure what to do with that.

Oh, like thinking slave labor could be rebranded as a Potato Recess?

What’s the point of this thought experiment? It seems to imply that killing whoever is to blame for a problem is acceptable.

I assure you, no children in Aroostook County Maine are being enslaved to harvest potatoes instead of going to school. That you would suggest something so silly is entirely unsurprising. The kids on potato farms are probably doing better than most in 2024.

I’m looking forward to a lot more zecarloisms when Trump gets sworn in again.

No, you listed some countries without any supporting evidence.

Really? Post a quote from me that backs this up. Good luck, chica.

As stated failing via failed, intended delivery of care or via failed funding initiatives.

Do you have a response or just some more literature recommendations, which would obviously solve the cost of healthcare because it’s the only way people learn how to think?

Are we in Voltaire territory now?

Exactly. But kids in other countries should be grateful to be enslaved. I get it, you don’t need to be so defensive.

And this is your problem. I don’t care that Trump is president. I’m not a Democrat. I haven’t even voted in years. If you think you can trigger me under some assumption of TDS, you’re wrong. With that said, had Kamala won, I could have made you cry. Of course, if Trump does something stupid, I’ll say something but I would say that about whichever douchebag is in office.

I’m looking for evidence but I don’t see it.

For you, I would recommend coloring books.

You wouldn’t know if we were.

Interesting.

Send me one that will make me color in the steps to perform a simple google search.

But you fill one out first so I can use yours as a color guide. Make sure to pay attention to details. I don’t want to miss anything.

Sorry I’m not that gay. Maybe that’s why you’re so mad?

You finally busted me. I’m actually pro slavery and full of hate, as you observed in my completely serious post about working with different ethnicities.

How gay are you?

Not gay enough to recognize Voltaire in casual conversation.

I wouldn’t describe you as full of hate and pro slavery. I’m sorry if you thought those were my impressions of you. I just thought you were old and from Maine.

Just gay enough to bring him up, however.

I’m From Away, not Maine.

The title of this thread is literally “People strike back at the “healthcare” industry”.

Healthcare IS an industry, regardless of how a government attempts to run it or allows it to run itself.

I’m not surprised that nobody’s jumped up to say that yes, this type of person and this type of person should also be murdered for what they’ve done, but that’s exactly the point I’m trying to make.

This is the direction that I was expecting the discussion to head.

Thus far, a single person influenced Castoli to start this thread (which I doubt was a surprise to anyone who knows his slant. He suggested that he would like others to follow.

I noticed that United Heathcare stock closed about 5% lower on Friday. We will see if the decline continues this week.

If I had United Healthcare health insurance, I would start some research if I should change healthcare insurance carriers at my next change opportunity. I could “strike back” with my wallet.

But I am not ready to leave America in order to find a country with higher quality healthcare per dollar than I have here. So, the discussion of the pros and cons of private health insurance vs socialized health insurance is of no relevance to me other the entertainment of the discussion. (and noteworthy is that Castoli oddly is absent from the discussion… at least thus far)

Socialism never fails, it seems; its problems are always the result of the shortage of resources…which is, of course, I’m supposed to believe, entirely unrelated to the fact that socialism’s biggest issue is resource allocation. Without price signals, how do we determine what needs to be produced?

I guess so.

But, Watson, I didn’t mean to overextend your defensive loyalty from procul harem songwriting and historically memorialized farting prowess.

My apologies.

There. You win. The entire thread. Especially if you go back to the beginning and read through it.

A masterful application of Chaucer farting knowledge overlayed in a conversation about misappropriated anger over health care costs and payment methodologies.

Really very impressive!

I can tell by example now that focusing on arts in education vs STEM is hugely valuable and the obvious way forward.

Thank you.
