If the status quo continues, something very bad is going to happen soon. The signs are there.
Eh, more people will do shit like this and be celebrated for it, but Iām not seeing any historical example that would draw me to conclude that the USA is on a path to a socialist or fascist revolution.
I wouldnāt have said so prior to Trumpās election, as we were on a fast path to one with that border policy.
Theyāll keep trying, but I just donāt see it happening in the near future without some type of massive, massive event.
Iām in the camp that we will gloss over the counter-culture bullshit as we have historically, overall.
Some of the propositions fundamentally changing our constitution and historically accepted inalienable rights of late, and responses to them, have been interesting to follow, however.
One example would be gun rights. In the last fiasco pushing against them, there were Sheriffs around the country openly stating they would not enforce any new, restrictive laws around guns. Some went as far as stating they would deputize entire counties under their purview so everyone could carry as agents of the county and/or state, with impunity, and this would even lift some currently restricted weapon bans without federal licensing.
Our family ranch was in one of the Texas counties in this camp, which is far from Austin and very much in ārealā Texas and there was virtually no expressed resistance to the idea. The Sheriff has been nearly unanimously reelected since.
To me this bridges a divide from Bible thumpers and gay dudes in dresses yelling at each other, or BLM celebrating dead, violent criminals to government entities challenging other govt entities with constituents aligning accordingly.
This is much closer to a real and hot civil war than was properly acknowledged imo.
There was also an uptick in militia activity. Not the online stuff or openly visible Proud Boy vs ANTIFA drama, but land owners were agreeing with veterans and in some cases even intelligence to facilitate access to properties as rally points and camps, with chatter around entire military factions peeling off with equipment and weaponry under their charge and aligning.
Sounds like wacky backwoods stuff, and itās not all that far from Waco and David Koresh after all, but there was some real discussion from people with histories above back road trailer home existences for sure.
Seems impractical to me. I would imagine the most effective equipment and weaponry would be very hard if not impossible to escape with, but there were at least loose outlines of real plans, and local to state level government realized resistance as well.
None of had to do with social issues, however. It was all about prevention of eroding the bill of rights, packing courts et cetera.
I disagree. Whether or not the ārevolutionā or whatever they try is successful, I think that itās possible that something will happen.
I remember when, in 2021, I wanted to go to the Stop the Steal protest in Washington, DC. I decided not to because I saw how some people on conservative forums were talking about overthrowing the government. I took them seriously, but knew it wouldnāt end well. On the day of the event, I said that people would die. When Ashli Babbit was shot, people were surprised that I was right. However, it was obvious given the circumstances. I think you should take the masses seriously, whether or not what they try will be successful.
To be clear, the revolution has DEFINITELY been happening. Iām just confident the wave has crested to its high water mark for now. Stop the steal was likely organized and certainly egged on by federal agents.
If the group had showed up armed, I might view it differently.
One of the closest I think we got is when armed agents of the State of Texas were facing down armed agents of the Federal Government over border enforcement. It wouldnāt take too many more of those things before someone got jumpy and weāre off to the races somehow.
Itās still the Wild West down here in many ways. Now itās cowboys and drug smugglers/coyotes moving through private ranches and in some cases attacking the ranchers in their homes, which never makes national news.
People in Chicago or New York are starting to understand given the redistribution efforts, but not well enough.
It really is an old fashioned states rights issue. And ironically enough itās framed through a racial lense.
Yup. I also think not using the death penalty is barbaric and uncivilized. People who take the lives of and endanger innocent people make their choices. Some enjoy doing so; they love killing and hurting innocent people. I donāt know how one red cent keeping them alive can be justified. Death provides closure for the innocent family members and society at large.
The stocks and whipping post were good things too.
I donāt believe the state should have that ultimate power over its citizens. This is the same state that offed Epstein and put Whitey Bulger in general population where he was killed. The idea that those duplicitous and self serving monsters should have even more power to kill people is unacceptable to me.
I donāt think murderers and violent criminals should have power over their victims. So they should pay.
The state is run by murderers and violent criminals. And the state has executed the innocent. If not for DNA, more would have been executed.
Are you for or against vigilantism?
Iām for it, but they have to satisfy the code.
Iām responding to your unedited post and yes, a few. I know other people on here have too. But that is going to be a very dark thread.
Yes, hence why I edited it.
Macrocephalic⦠heās like the least mutated loser of the bunch too
You know, the creator of that word could of made it sound less like macrophallic.
I agree. And Iām not opposed to old fashioned town square hanging trees.
