I think “tap water” might be simplifying it a bit much. They admitted it comes from a public source…
So it’s not spring water.
Sounds like filtered tap water to me.
public source means they get it from the same source as the municipality. only difference is pepsi puts it through a stronger purifying process. your still paying extra for tap water though
Well if they’re purifying the tap water…it no longer is tap water. I don’t get why people are saying it’s “tap water” when it clearly is cleaner than regular tap water.
Hmm. Because IT COMES FROM A TAP.
There’ probably little retarded kids filling up buckets of water from the hose out back of the factory and bringing it in to “purify”.
I have been through there plants. The city water that enters the building is ran through a filter process then bottled.
This is the case for bottled water. Do you think your buying it from some virgin spring in the rockies.
Why people pay more for bottled water than gasoline I will never know when it free from the tap.
It was a great marketing scheme years ago and the public bought it hook line and sinker. Now lets sell snow to the Eskimos.

If you lived somewhere like Phoenix where the water is all but undrinkable from the tap, you’d understand. When I used to have well water I was perfectly happy with tap water, but not anymore. I can’t drink it. It would be like drinking the water in Mexico, just can’t do it.
But then again, I have 11 gallon jugs that I fill up at those Glacier machines which costs me 25 cents a pop… A bit cheaper than gasoline for me.
I still don’t see it as tap water, though. I mean, where does the supply come for the municipal water supply? Aren’t they filled by natural sources?
So really, isn’t all water spring water or something along those lines?
It just seems silly… Yes, it comes from a tap, so technically it’s now tap water. Extremely filtered tap water. Which is where the difference lies between their water and your tap water.

I will gladly pay extra for something that is cleaner than what I get when I turn on my faucet. Since I live in an area that gets it water from one source, but work in an area where the water comes from a differnce source – my gut thanks me for keeping the water consistant. I also for one got used to drinking bottled water while living in Europe, so tap is not the norm for me.
People look, if the company doesn’t claim it to be spring water, then it is from domestic resivoirs that has been ultra filtered and has then added sodium and magnesium. Dasani is the same. In fact, when I was working for Coke, they said it is more expensive to make Dasani than any other Coke product because of the mineral “pellets” that are used in Dasani.
Aquafina tastes like shit anyways. Ice Mountain is the best taste for the money.
(edit: did I just compare the taste of water??)
I have a strong feeling that most people (or at least – me) who buy bottled water don’t buy it because they’re under the assumption that it’s any “better” than any other water, but just because it’s convenient at the moment. You’re on the road somewhere, or walking around a city or a shopping mall or something, and you want water. You don’t have a sink and a cup handy, so you buy a bottle of it.
I’ve never done any side-by-side comparisons between the different brands, but that’s because to me they all taste just like – water. Nothing more, nothing less.
It’s just a convenience thing.
Now, if you’re buying it in huge jugs and stocking up on it at home (in this country, anyway) with the intent of drinking it instead of drinking your tap water, then you, kind reader, are a fucking idiot. (No offense).

Apparently you’ve never tasted the water here in Phoenix… If you did, you wouldn’t be drinking tap water.
In fact, they suggest you DON’T drink the tap water unless it’s gone through extra filters because of all the crap that’s in it.
When I can pour water and see a lot of stuff settling to the bottom of my glass, I no longer want to drink that water.
And I can tell the difference between tastes in water. Arrowhead bottled water is absolutely disgusting. Fiji water isn’t much better.
How is this news to anyone? When the bottle says “purified by reverse osmosis”, they could run piss through that process and make it safe to drink. If anything, I’m suprised they’re not using brackish water or straight salt water.
