Don’t worry about the dose relative to anyone else. 250 mg is not crazy, just higher than most. Although the daily HCG is kind of pointless, and 250 IU for a whole week is not likely actually doing anything for you.
I agree. My only concern with lowering the dose would be having to dial in AI and stuff again. However, I think since I’m on ~1.5mg Anastrazole weekly, (0.5mg E3D), I’m pretty aware my dose is too high for my body with regards to my natural estrogen conversion. Only thing holding me back from changing it is that I’d have to re-dial it all in, as I’m not experiencing high/low e2 symptoms atm…
Could too high a testosterone dose be messing with my thyroid function? If slicing my doses all in half would be best for my thyroid, I’m all for trying it. At 200mg once weekly, my trough day TT was 561ng/dL and FT was 14.6pg/nl, E2 25.4pg/nl. I’d imagine injecting half my current dose (so 125mg T) split into ED injections (and lowering AI) would give me good numbers. If this switch would help my thyroid, I’d be all for it. I don’t understand the relationship between testosterone and thyroid function, however, and if there’s nothing there then I’d just wait to lower my dose til I’ve got that figured out.
If your thyroid is broke it won’t matter what you do, I have seen members struggle for years never really feeling good for long on any protocol. They only feel good when levels are in flux, when they reach a stable state, the benefits of TRT start waning.
Thyroid increases metabolism, it drives every cell and organ in your body, if you go on TRT with a slow metabolism, then don’t expect much benefit.
Thyroid dictates so much of how we function. You can have the best engine in the world but if the fuel injectors are clogged it won’t do you a damn bit of good to have all that theoretical horsepower.
Go to “stop the thyroid madness (.com)” all one word if you want to know the new school (correct) way to address your thyroid problem. For some reason I can’t post the link.
Thanks everyone for the input. I’ll be sure to check out that website later when I have time. I guess I really want to fix this issue without just saying “oh well” and starting thyroid medication. I know I could get it in a heartbeat from my current doc, that guy will prescribe me anything.
Two things on my mind:
-As far as I know, I didn’t have any pre existing thyroid conditions, and thyroid problems aren’t really seen in my family, which makes me hesitant to think fixing my thyroid is out of the picture.
-On the other hand, the reason I’m on TRT is hypogonadism mostly from SARMs use, of which there’s little research on. I’ve tried searching for SARMs effect on thyroid and haven’t found anything, but maybe running numerous, back to back cycles of SARMs has screwed up my metabolism. The one that makes the most sense to me is MK-677. Probably took that stuff for a year straight at a high dose like 25mg daily. My metabolism went through the roof. I was eating 4000-5000 calories a day, but not gaining weight despite relatively little physical activity outside of ~1.5 hour weightlifting sessions. Real high energy, real strong libido back when I was doing that. Maybe my body got accustomed to that and now it thinks it can rely on an absurd amount of nutrients to function?
Not too sure. I think I’m going to run Iodoral again, but not decrease the dose and just stick with the 50mg daily with the other shit (Vit C, selenium, copper, etc.) and see how things go. If the effects go away again, I’ll retest thyroid. If the labs don’t look good and symptoms prevail, would thyroid medication be my best bet?
Would this explain why, when I first started 50mg iodine, I felt good for a while, and then the effects diminished after a while? The excess of iodine sped up my T4 production for awhile until my body began to stabilize?
You shouldn’t just supplement iodine without doing an iodine loading test.
In these cases the thyroid cannot sustain output because it was already on the brink, TRT can take this a step further and I seen men feel worse on TRT as the thyroid can barely function at all.
Had to google what that was. I think that’s a great idea, wish I hadn’t taken 50mg this morning, but I will stop immediately and wait until I have a test before I take another dose.
