One thing I will say- sparring with Castillo doesn’t mean dick. I watched Castillo get beat up about a year ago by some nobody scrub in California in an outdoor arena- the guy has NOTHING eft. Nothing. That’s why Roach didn’t want him- it was Pac’s scumbag “Advisor.”

But compare Castillo to Tukes (a 36 year old with 8 fights against nobodies) and Abril (a 9-3 record against nobodies).

Castillo has more KO’s than Tukes and Abril have fights combined! He’s faced Corrales, Casamayor, Hatton, and Mayweather.

great discussion here. Long time ready rare poster. Just wonder if anyone else saw on ESPN that Pac-Man called out Mayweather. Saying that Mayweather will nto fight him.

As an example of how delusional some of these Filipinos are-

Poll: Fight fans see Pacquiao-Cotto ending by KO

MANILA – A poll conducted by ABS-CBN News Online showed that most local fight fans believe the â??Fire Powerâ?? match between Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto this coming Saturday (Sunday in Manila) with end by knock out.

Asked â??How will the Fire Power match between Pacquiao, Cotto endâ??, 73 percent of the online voters answered that the fight will be concluded by knock out.

Thirteen percent believe the match will go the distance and will end by decision.

Eleven percent thinks the referee will stop the fight, while a measly 3 percent believe the match will end in a draw.

Other online polls also show fight fans picking Pacquiao to win over Cotto.

According to PhilBoxing.com, half of the total 80,000 votes indicated the Filipino winning by knock out in the late rounds.

Thirty-five percent said Pacquiao will win by first round stoppage.

The FIRST FUCKING ROUND!!!?? REALLY?
[/quote]

Wow, a little bit of nut huggage from my countryman here. I don’t even expect Cotto to be hurt in the 1st round, not even the 1st 5 rounds. Guess they haven’t seen what Cotto can take or do. But you have to understand where they’re coming from, he represents the whole country. He’s Elvis and the Beatles rolled into one.

Well Pac is playing with house money. A majority of people have taken Cotto, and rightfully so. If he gets beat, he got beat by a naturally bigger and better fighter. If he wins by KO, the PI is busting a nut as one! haha

If Castillo wasn’t completely shot, I would agree with you in a second. But the guys is literally an empty shell of what he used to be. And again- I may think Roach is a cock, but there’s no denying he knows what he’s doing- and he didn’t want any part of Castillo.

Hell, Chico Corrales woulda been a better sparring partner than Castillo.

People are always sparring with nobodies, I don’t really think it matters how much of a nobody they’re.

funny as hell, but not cool…

we can very easily see a pacman-marquez type of fight with this one…but really if this fight does indeed turn into a blood bath, can manny hang with cotto like he did marquez?..i dont think so, just compare marquez to cotto.

yeah manny is bigger and stronger and has sharper skills, dude still cotto is a fuckin animal u can see it in his eyes…cotto vs. mayweather actually scares me, and im a big mayweather fan

manny is bigger and stronger than cotto?

this isn’t going to be like manny fighting at 130lbs, this is his first legit fight at welterweight.

marquez is a bad example, lots of people think he won the second fight. he got a draw with marquez after knocking him down 3 times too lol.

Cotto is bigger than Manny. They’ve got the same size and reach, as well being the same height, but Cotto has a much larger build than Manny and is undoubtedly the “stronger” guy

my bad,i meant manny is bigger, stronger, more polished, now than he was when he fought marquez…that last post made me sound like a dumbass

this is the point i was trying to make, marquez thumped on manny in that second fight…marquez couldnt do that to cotto at any weight. unless he used cement wraps!

oh and marquez did win that second fight.

I don’t think Cotto is the counter puncher that Marquez is, so you’re comparing two different fighters.

Pacs kryptonite is Marquez until proven otherwise. And yeah, it does look like Marquez won that 2nd fight, too bad Pac knocked him down again to sway the judges.

Im not speaking on “fighting style”. Im talkingabout the will to finish a fight, “grit and grind”. basically if cotto and pac get into a slugfest, pac will have to pound cotto the same way margarito did, which he is not capable of. Now im saying if marquez can take wut pacqiauo gave him, then surely cotto can handle that and more.

Of course I give Cotto an advantage in a slugfest. He’s a much bigger and stronger fighter than Pac, and has taken shots from opponents just as big. But if Pac knows he can’t hurt Cotto, I hope he will try an outbox him. The only way Pac can KO Cotto, and I give it less than 10%, is by a punch Cotto doesn’t see.

I forgot which sports radio stations brought this up, but Pac is big money now in Vegas and the boxing world. So I’m thinking if it goes to decision, well, I’ll just leave it at that.

how much is pac favored by? If the odds r good, cotto can make some good money…assuming he pulls out the upset(not my opinion)

cotto is in for a BIG surprise.

Cotto has power for a welterweight, i’d say Cotto has a much better chin too. I don’t see Manny doing anything if he just tries to exchange with Cotto. Manny hasn’t really shown that he’s strong at 140+ either, all he has done is KO Hatton. if this is going to be like marquez/pacquiao then Roach is making a bad decision lol.

3:1 last time I checked. Maybe Puerto Ricans betting last minute will tip it but I doubt it.

Killer Cotto gettin at’em
