Ex bouncers or teal haired land whales and emaciated nu-males with eczema and low T.
The left has a distinct lack of self awareness so true tangible virtues like wisdom, patience, emotional continence, impulse control etc… Mean nothing and they face zero repercussions for being void in any and all of these. They exist in an ever expanding echo chamber of sycophants and demoralized degenerate low lifes. Their mutual admiration aside what exactly do they contribute to society that’s a net positive ?
Well, my SIL does some rather incredible, valuable and productive work in bio-medicine. She’s a brilliant lady and, all things considered, a better-than-average mother to my nieces. She’s also someone whose company I used to really enjoy back when we could talk about things like kids, culture and other things that weren’t politics.
Her politics are now seemingly informed by woke narratives and fantasy notions, but otherwise she’s a good lady doing good things who goes out and votes D across the board.
My sister is an SJW dope.
Ever notice the onus is ALWAYS on police to do better, act better, perform miracles, etc… And NEVER on citizens to act more civilized ? Its a 2 way street but only one part of the equation is ever held liable in the court of public opinion
Who knows? In a year or ten, police officers may be yearning for the days of being tried by the court of public opinion. Darren Wilson merely had to go into hiding, lose his livelihood and resign himself to a lifetime of harassment. It’s not like he’s going to jail for 2nd Degree Murder.
President Biden is openly advocating to end qualified immunity. Not modify it, but end it.
I’m sure justice shall floweth from the countless lawsuits filed against racist road pirates who harass, threaten and hunt for sport the local merchants, traders and community leaders.
Or better yet… Police are just revenue generators. That’s window licking IQ level shit there
Funny… So many uninformed halfwits think a cop only has to say " I feared for my life " and it’s case closed. It’s scary how uninformed and ignorant so many are and it only helps to foment their distrust of us.
I want to catch up on all that has been said in one giant post ![]()
Actually within my extended group there are a couple applying to become officers of the law. Centre left individuals for that matter, sporty/tough young men with well founded moral compasses.
The politically correct/woke crowd aren’t signing up in droves to be involved with law enforcement. Not only does such a profession not cater towards their vested interests, but some believe law enforcement is a broken construct… Wonder if they’d be pro-anarchism given it’d quickly equate to such a demographic being eaten up and spat out like a stick of gum.
Unfortunately I’d tend to agree. I’m no expert, but I believe there was a need for (some) reform within the paradigm that encompasses law enforcement. Due to a string of events caught on video, the topic at hand was sensationalized and a small yet very vocal cohort pushed an emotion based response as opposed to a logical one. This has led to a string of events leading to a massive “swing of the pendulum” and as a result policies are being put in place of which punish the majority of good officers as well as the small minority of bad officers. There will probably be another “clap-back” if these policies turn out to be a mistake. I certainly don’t believe defunding the police in the most violent neighbourhoods in America will lead to a positive outcome.
Shoehorned, ham-fisted political agendas coupled with a small percentage of “bad-eggs” have ruined things for everyone. I’m sorry about the news regarding your department, I hope this doesn’t negatively impact your general state of health/wellbeing.
With this said, I don’t believe the left are inherently degenerate. I believe both sides of the political spectrum are culpable for a myriad of societal flaws. The whole “defund the police” fiasco is admittedly a byproduct of those who swing further towards the left wing of the political spectrum, though it should be noted outside of the United States this agenda isn’t universally associated with left wing culture. Very few people are pushing for the abolition of police in Australia regardless of political affiliation.
I can empathize with your frustrations, though I can’t fathom the frustration you must be feeling. It’s good to have a place to vent. Though I’d like to elucidate upon one topic I find fishy.
You mention you are apolitical and perhaps find both sides repugnant (a very respectable belief, politics are steeped in BS and superficial facades). Yet you seldom condemn the right, you believe the election was fishy and you constantly berate the left as a whole yet the majority of those who identify as “left” or “right” wing are moderate in nature. I happen to know someone (not a massive leftie either) who worked in the polling stations, this individual extrapolated upon the sheer level of security present at these conventions as to ascertain voter validity. To my knowledge there have been documented efforts pertaining to the Trump administration conducting efforts of which have been identified as voter suppression, so perhaps the election was fishy.
Had Trump won, the left would have cried fraud and Trump would have also claimed fraud as he didn’t win the popular vote (as he did in 2016). As Trump didn’t win, he’s crying blatant fraud. It’s a clusterfuck… Neither outcome would have been without someone crying wolf.
The average left wing dude or gal isn’t some violent anarchist/antifa supporter hellbent on destroying society just as the average right wing individual would never support the 2021 Capitol riots.
I myself identify as centre left, I harbour a myriad of conservative and progressive views. In terms of my vested progressive ideology I don’t believe in the inherent need to uphold all traditional conservative societal views, I firmly believe climate change is a dire issue in need of urgent combatting and I’d support drastic reforms depending on economic impact in effort to achieve this goal. I’m pro-choice, LGBT rights, I believe indigenous Australians have been done a great injustice but with that being said I don’t believe any demographic ought to be put up on a pedestal due to past injustice.
I’m split down the middle on gun control (though not nearly as "left as I used to be).
I’m “right wing” regarding Israeli Palestinian relations, I believe in a traditional free market (within reason), I’m not pro “excessive taxation” on income and various goods I believe in upholding generalised civil liberties, I dislike and disagree with excessively woke/politically correct culture. I’m generally pro law and order so long as a specific law or regulation makes sense; though we might have a few disagreements on what laws ought to be enforced as to maintain a realistically sustainable society free of mass incarceration, rampant poverty and sky high rates of addiction. I’m against excessive red tape/nanny state legislature etc. I can’t list all of my vested political viewpoints, but as you see I’m certainly not set in stone.
It should also be noted various beliefs can be construed as “left” or “right” depending on context. Right wing anarchism exists too.
As I’ve specified a million times prior, it’s a fluid spectrum; not a rigid construct. Despite being colloquially “left wing”, I’m not a psycho. I’m not perfect (who is?) and at the same time I’d never advocate for an uptick in murder rates, violent crime and the likes.
I’ve got a good one for you. There are those who legitimately believe “if you’re caucasian, you are born racist”. These kind of people are a vocal minority, but it’s a amusing as to how someone can justify such a belief.
The "LOL’’ comment was perhaps uncalled for. Though this is the PWI forum, not the off topic forum. Political discourse is appropriate on PWI threads and ought to be about facts AND individualistic beliefs so long as someone can coherently back up their viewpoint with substance. I’m sure @marine77 is using this page as a means to vent, but if someone were to engage in political discourse with me in person yet went solely on and on about how psychotic and degenerate the left and only the left are I’d be disallusioned and less intent on taking the conversation seriously.
This is a shitty time for many of us, I think perhaps we ought to be supportive towards one another regardless of vested political viewpoints. Divisiveness over idealistic ways to combat numerous public policies doesn’t equate to a lack of moral fibre. We are all merely human, in these difficult times it’s probably best NOT to talk shit to someone who is experiencing hardship.
Actually it does. This is not a theoretical academic discussion any more. This is real policy being implemented in spite of the bad outcomes that were easily predicted. The spikes in violence are all happening to real people. The demoralized cops like OP are real people too, and the consequences for police recruitment and the future of public safety are real.
If you support defunding the police in areas that desperately need police, you are either profoundly stupid or sociopathic.
If a partisan policy win is more important than the outcomes left in its wake, you are a sociopath who simply doesn’t care about those terrible outcomes happening to real people right now, today.
This is not “same stuff on both sides”. This is one party advancing a clearly destructive policy and doing it with lies, lies and more lies. There is nothing remotely equivalent being done by conservatives or the Republicans.
Stupid or sociopath is all that’s left for defund supporters now that we have results in hand. This is not an academic debate it is basic right vs wrong.
You know, this really resonates with me. I live in a country where up to a few years ago, everyday violence between opposing sides was a daily occurrence, such as, two Christian white men sitting in a bar talking, being shot dead, because one was nominally from one tradition (Irish) and the other from another (United Kingdom). They knew each other for a few years and caught up once in a while on neutral territory. Most people thought this was a bit of a minor miracle and just left them alone. Until some day one side decided this would not do, and murdered them both. For talking to each other. It took generations for this level of hate and mistrust to be built up. Thankfully it is receding, gradually, in large part through a lot of really great local and national leadership from modest, decent and courageous people.
You guys live in a land of great plenty and opportunity, and are somehow being led to despise each other because one side backs one crowd of corporately funded corrupt liars versus another crowd of corporately funded corrupt liars.
believes that our society and institutions are racist to the core, using brazen lies and media propaganda to advance this notion.
There you go. Fixed that one for you.
Disagree, though we can have this conversation in a different thread. This thread surrounds politics pertaining to law enforcement and vested agendas.
For the record I’m not advocating for defunding the police anywhere within the United States.
Australia is a different story, and my vested irritation tends to be with be sole with the Highway patrol and strip searching of young children without adequate merit (in NSW only). That being said I’d rather take it up with parliament, it’s more of an issue with the state/federal government’s as it is with the police.
Are you saying you aren’t racist? That’s only something a racist person would say. Whether you know it or not, you’re RACIST!!!
Joking btw
I don’t need my writing fixed thanks all the same.
Look at that graph again. There are less votes in the middle than at the extreme ends. They don’t care whether they believe what they say or not, they say it to win votes.
Don’t you guys kill each other for liking Fords or Holdens…
Regardless of whether you guys believe that the Republicans or conservatives demonstrate equivalent behavior, it is silly to point that out in a cops thread about present day cop job conditions brought on exclusively by lying Democrats.
Especially when no examples are given.
It seems entirely appropriate to point out the one sided nature of this. This policy is so objectively terrible it requires fact free media narratives based on lies to fool anyone with a moral compass into supporting it.
The troubling part of dealing with the profoundly stupid and sociopaths is the staggering lack of self-awareness these people tend to possess. The stupid think they are smart and the sociopaths don’t typically recognize themselves as such, instead charging ahead with their destructive combination of ignorance and confidence.
Normally, I would go for a Ford over a Holden, but if I could purchase one of these, I would do so.

I think you can get one of these with a LS2 motor in it. It is pretty much a GTO, with a truck bed.
Strictly from a professional public administration viewpoint, concerned with budgets and beaurocracy;
Is it true that more than 120 of the 200 “spots” cut from the St Louis police budget were unfilled?
“The police department said Monday that it was 129 officers short of its authorized strength of 1,349.”
Is it true that federal and state law enforcement are increasing their presence in St. Louis?
Think it started with a false claim of polarizing activity belonging only to the left. You agreed that was false yesterday (two days ago?), and awarded me “internet points” which I am relishing
.
We discussed at least one example of polarizing activity on the right (the fraudulent election claims).
This is fair in regards to the left. It is just not true with all issues (regarding polarization), only policing.
Not all segments of the public which is even sadder.
We also discussed how it is not remotely equivalent.
There is no uptick in rape, murder, assault, theft, robbery etc because of Republicans concerns about election integrity.
That’s also falsely labeled as racist, by the way. See President Biden characterizing reasonable election changes in GAas the new Jim Crow.
No big deal though right? Just more lying to accuse your opponents of being racist scum. Republicans do bad things too.
