So you don’t want to elect someone who is pro-choice? What about a candidate who is pro-life but thinks the matter is a states rights issue and not the business of the federal government?

Yeah, no issues from me. While this issue can be politicized, your arrangement of priorities when considering how to cast your vote is certainly your own business.
Of course, the issue can, will and has been argued on it’s own merits plenty of times!

I would have to evaluate that at the time should it occur. It’s possible that I could swing that way, say for instance, if the USSC landed a decision that would turn the tide on abortion on some level. To answer your question less directely, I am more interested in ending the activity than controling it’s status as a law. If it’s legal but nobody has them, then I don’t care that it’s legal.

I’m ready for something new but I agree with the guy that said America is too racist and sexist to vote for Obama or Hillary. It would be interesting to see if one of them could pull it off. [/quote]
I don’t know about the likelihood, but I think it would have the potential to do a lot of good with respect to race relations if Obama won.
I don’t think Hilary winning would have the potential to be as significant.

If Obama wins and is the terrible socialist he’s likely to be, do you think it will set back race relations? I can hear the hicks chalking up a shitty performance to race already.

We’ve argued this issue to nauseating extremes here several times. I am not ready to do it again right now, that’s for sure. Don’t worry, it will come up again and I will argue my case again and again and again.

I don’t want to restart the debate either, but you can never really end the activity. If it’s illegal, people will have them illegally. At best, you can curtail them greatly (I’d say almost completely) through education and birth control. For the unavoidable cases, it’s best they be legal, if only to prevent the added health costs from botched back-alley procedures and infections.
