They’re kickin it at ground zero.

I read on NYTimes.com that Obama personally called George Bush to tell him the good news. What a conversation that must have been!

“George, are you, uh…sitting down right now?”

I was going to give a little no homo post saying just that, I think yours has more credibility…

The more I hear about this, the better it gets. This was a badass, close-contact Navy Seal op …all without Pakistani blessing.

I don’t see a cut-and-dry way out. It’s all very bad news. If it was up to me I’d pull our ground troops out of those fucked up shit-holes and bring them back here where they can protect U.S. citizens because I’m sure we’re gonna need it.

These are not WARS that we’re involved in - they’re ass-kiss missions. We’re digging wells and building schools and paying billions out in cash in the hopes that these goat-fuckers will come around. That’s not what militaries are for

I agree with this. I just don’t see the need for the ignorant hate bullshit.

Makes us all look like dolts and uneducated fools.

You’ve wrongly deduced that I hate Arabs. I hate the terrorists. Have lots of Lebanese and Chaldean friends.

Just my opinion but I think we’re gonna see some scary shit, ala Beslan massacre, happening right here. The troops should be protecting US and not the clowns across the planet.

Holy shit.

FYI for the non-Americans that read this, we are not all ass ignorant as this.

Wow.

Yeah - you’re right. I don’t wish to offend those backwards cavemen in Iraq and Stan that are blowing up our 18 year old soldiers and cutting peoples’ heads off for fun.

Agree both posts Saveski, Countingbeans the PC self righteous bullshit in every thread is really unbecoming and getting pretty tired
So you two are in ignorant bliss together then? Excellent.

Just like not every American are ignorant fucks like yourself, not every muslim or believer in Islam is an evil terrorist.

Sorry if my disliking individuals for their choices and not entire groups of people for the choices of few bothers you, but you can both feel free to go kiss my ass because the only part of either post that wasn’t obnoxious was:

Also, don’t forget, we Americans can home grow some seriously fucked up people. Your short sightedness is unbecoming and growing tiresome.
Right now somewhere in the deepest pits of hell Osama is saying “But where are the virgins?”.

I am pretty sure it’s against Geneva Convention to show his body on TV. Yes, I know that was violated when they showed the bodies of Saddam’s sons.

And I disagree that this will have ANY impact on terrorist activity–maybe rhetoric–unless Bin Laden’s fortune is now lost and out of reach for any other terrorist leaders.

You can’t take down an “starfish” organization like terrorism. It has no central leadership.

I wish they HADN’T announced it at all to avoid the potential risk of retaliation or complications for our troops overseas. But no, we had to announce the shit for domestic political gain (my assumption).

How will this change shit in the Middle East? A new leader takes over, and then what? Great we killed him, but now what?
agreed, gives people a sliver of hope, but what you said is still true
This may have been addressed in subsequent pages, I haven’t read them, but its really not that simple…there is a huge power struggle within the ranks of Al Qaeda…in fact, there was before Bin Laden finally secured it–many powerful people competing for the title…it wasn’t until Bin Laden had many of his rivals murdered (including one here in the US) that he was able to consolidate his power…

I think the same thing could end up at play here…especially now that Al Qaeda is a recognized worldwide organization–everybody wants a piece of the pie…I think this has the potential to polarize the competing factions and further weaken Al Qaeda’s reach as spin off groups start to breakaway…

Harder to capture them all at that point, but also harder for them to put together an attack of huge magnitude…

By carrying your logic to its natural conclusion, the best way to fight terrorism is to simply let them do whatever they want in the hopes that if we work really hard at not pissing them off they won’t come after us in any way.
What.The.Fuck.

Go read about Zionism and bankers before you say some dumb shit like that again.

All this bullshit is nothing but a plot for more fucked up shit that is coming to the human race. This shit isn’t about countries, nationalism is just a tool used to brainwash people into wars. The people in power(not the president) are the ones creating all this shit only for the sake of more power and more wealth.

It’s all about resources my friend.

You’re too intelligent to believe this. This was revenge, which of course is sweet. It was justice. But it’s not a “victory” by any measure of the word. It’s not huge from a strategic standpoint. He was reduced to a man on the run, living in the mountains and otherwise being sheltered. He was not the threat. The organization he spawned, and others like it, are the threat - and they still very much exist. Killing Osama is symbolic at best. There has been no ground gained here.

I can’t believe it’s been nearly 10 years since 9-11. Time does fly! I’ll never forget Todd Beamer, and the other passengers on United flight 93. “Let’s roll!” They made us all proud. Remember, his wife had their baby 4 months after his death?

For a brief time, it seemed like everyone forgot about ugly party politics and we seemed to be happy to just define ourselves as Americans.
If you believe the passengers took that plane down, I have some land to sell you  But that’s a topic all it’s own. I believe that plane was shot down.

I think it’s pretty sick that so many people are genuinely HAPPY about someone dying. That’s some messed up shit right there. Clearly, he deserved to be punished, and yes, even deserved to die. I just think that if you condemn the people who hate us for celebrating the deaths of Americans, you should be above doing the same thing yourself.

This is grneyes posting under IH’s login. I, too, am concerned about the backlash. Hopefully, with him dead, his organization will just fall away, but I really don’t think that will happen. I’m pretty sure there are going to be some suicide bombers after this, some other sort of attacks in major Middle East cities, probably in highly populated civilian areas, and if they kill Americans or Westerners, that will be just gravy.

We will never know who took the shot(s) that killed Osama and I feel bad for the woman who was killed because someone was using her as a shield, but those SEALs and other Spec Ops guys deserve a medal.
