Orlando Terror Attacks

You are right in making this distinction. The fact that Islamism is currently number 1 by a wide margin in amount of terror exercised, no terror group is a joke to play around with. These others do need to be taken seriously and dealt with as harshly when warranted. But the majority of resources need to be dedicated to Islamism.

Now, the difference between these smaller groups and Islamism is that mostly, smaller groups tend to be a law enforcement issue. Islamism demands a military response with a dose of law enforcement to back it up.

I think its safe to say that if obama had taken the ISIS problem seriously in the beginning, destroyed and humiliated them before they could gain to much power, Orlando would not have happened.
It’s hard to know that for sure, of course, but without radical ideology, its hard to radicalize. And if you are not radicalized, you are not likely to murder a bunch of people while screaming “Allah Akbar!”
Or he could have been a nut job that would have done it anyway, but I think it far less likely.

Yes, days and days and days. And the same multi account troll pops up trying to get me to take the bait making bullshit comments every time it comes up.

I think broke my own rule, which is to not divert the thread trying to make a narrowly related point significant in the discussion.

I hope we can all agree here that there is no way in hell a guy who was questioned multiple times by the FBI should have been able to legally by firearms, but also that is a minor point to the larger point that we have experienced yet another terrorist attack on US soil.

Obama’s diversionary tactics by trying to make this about gun control, rather than dealing with the terrorism is sickening. It’s even more sickening that idiots by the bushel, buy the bullshit he is spewing.

Certainly, if he were to be honest, he would have to face the nation and admit his own mistakes with regard to policy that made ISIS and global jihad a bigger threat than it has ever been. So I can only assume he’s trying to change the subject in order to avoid the hard questions that the soft-assed liberal media wouldn’t dare to ask him, but they need to.

Of course, he can lie and will. He was touting his successes in the fight against ISIS nearly simultaneously with the CIA director’s nearly completely opposite assessment of the situation to congress. That should tell you something.

So he tries to change the subject to gun control so that he does not have to talk about ISIS, while the elephant in the room is that the weapon of choice pales to the ideology that drove the asshole to do it in the first place.

I do hope he got his 72 virgins. I hope they are all very large, very well hung, very aggressive black guys running a 72 long chain, gang-raping his asshole for all eternity while he drowns in their cum, but never dies.

Yes pat, I agree, take it all seriously, but pay attention to the numbers.

Some US Army bros got medals for helping out in the UK. Hopefully, that sort of Military/Law enforcement hybrid experience will be used, or at least considered, domestically.

Orlando Traitor seems like he’s been an asshole nut job for awhile. People he went to school with say he cheered on 9-11. As you said, Isis is like a 10x probability multiplier for these murderers.

I don’t agree with that…

I don’t like Due Process with exceptions. The 14th is the 14th. If the FBI had something on this guy that is one thing, but I don’t think it’s wise for us to give the federal government the ability to deny a U.S. the ability to buy a firearm because they’ve been questioned by the FBI.

Agreed.

Agreed.

Dudes who got caught selling Ecstasy 16 years ago as college frat boys cant own some guns today.

Surely we can develop a special shit list. Orlando Traitor got suspended for school 48 times!

A friend of mine is on the Homeland Security list because of a DUI he got diverted.

If you’re looking for a government solution, which I’m not a huge fan of, we could consider expanding the background check prior to the purchase of rifles and shotguns. I believe you only have to pass a federal background check for handguns. If the check is expanded to other arms the FBI should be alerted to the fact that someone in their system (from the interviews) is attempting to buy a rifle. At least then they can monitor the person’s actions.

You must pass a BGC on anything the ATF considers a firearm.

The ATF considers the frame of a firearm a firearm. So the lower receiver for an AR is a firearm, and you need to pass a BGC.

Any rifle, any shotgun, anything you need to pass a BGC when purchased from an FFL.

If it was a felony or you’re in a May Issue state with shitty LEO, yup. [quote=“FlatsFarmer, post:146, topic:218452”]

No. We can bring charges and provide evidence. Otherwise people are free.

Jesus man. Read a history book.

Gotcha. I wasn’t sure and really the law is in place already. The FBI just needs to not suck.

I didn’t specifically mean a no-firearms list, but that wasn’t clear from my post.

If we read the books and study the history, maybe we’ll find something, some policy or idea we can use effectively.

There have always been trouble makers.

There will always be troublemakers.

I get what you’re saying but honestly, no. The Nazi had a list.

You’d be comfortable with Bernie or trump in charge of that list? Obama already used the IRS to punish political dissenters, you want him in charge of the “bad guy’s who we can say actually did anything wrong but we dont’ like” list?

This whole list thing is too 1984 for me. Freedom is dangerous. Deal with it and protect yourself.

You guys didn’t read the book about the FBI taking down Paul Castallano?

This. This ^ is what happens when the FBI fucks up.

The FBI knew about the Orlando shooter, why they get a search warrant and break down his front door is beyond me. Plenty of evidence to indict on conspiracy to commit a terrorist attack. ISIS/Jihad bullshit on his computer - check. Stock piling massive amounts of ammo - check. Verified testimony of deadly threats against Americans - check.

They should have kick his door in, hogtied him, and made him face a Federal Grand Jury. We could have got him on conspiracy, given him a couple decades in a Federal Maximum, where he could have gotten shanked in his ass.

That is fine assuming it is legal under the 14th amendment, which I believe it is.

ummm… You just put the vast majority of the gun owning population on the “watch list” with this right here man.

This is why the list is bullshit.

If we have evidence, arrest, charge, try and convict. Otherwise, people are free.

This is where I stand as well.

I wasn’t implying it should be. I just want people to consider the Constitutional tight rope that Statists will walk to implement their agenda. We have seen it with Obama, and we will see it with the next President.
