I keep hearing their names and stuff, but I’m pretty much out of the loop.
Bruce Jenner fucked Mrs Piggy
Do you live in a bubble?
Pretty much, yeah.
I really only know about things through hearsay; filters out a lot of the crap that way. If it’s important enough that people are talking about it on, say, T Nation, or a few reddit subforums/subreddit’s, or if my friends are talking about it… I hear about it.
But otherwise, I don’t hear about much.
Honestly the only reason I know anything about pop culture is The Soup

I DVR a few things dont really watch TV
The Soup
Archer
Walking dead
Game of Thrones
Tosh.0
So yeah, these Kardashian people. I don’t really know who they are or where they came from.
They don’t seem to be from some rich/influential family [at least that I’ve ever heard of], they don’t seem to be actors or singers or anything… so why does anyone care about them?

I was not joking about Bruce Jenner
I watch Archer and Burn Notice (although, I haven’t touched the current season yet). I’m working my way through Fringe.
And I’m watching some ridiculous Chinese wuxia series now, based on some famous Chinese novel. Girlfriend and I are watching episodes as they get subtitled. Xiao Ao Jiang Hu/Swordsman.
Viki.com is a cool site for foreign shows; all the subtitles are added by volunteers.

Sounds legit. I’ve watched a good deal of Chinese cinema in both Mandarin and Cantonese. I’ve never actually thought to watch a show.

I see.
So… what keeps people caring about them? Good PR drama?

Plenty of crazy special effects and cinematography in this show.
The story is pretty good though, since it’s from an actual novel. The producers just had a lot of fun with the visuals.

Interesting. What genre is this called? It looks like the style of combat is similar to the inner/outer reservoir arts from Hero Tales. Also, is that Donnie Yen at 1:42 and 2:58?

I’m pretty sure it’s not him. And they just use the term “wuxia” to describe the genre.
