why not that? my dell laptop ate its third hard drive and i gave up on it, got that exact one from best buy for $200 bucks. i dont need it for classes/school/anything and at 200 bucks its more or less disposable to me. i do alot of commuting so i can watch movies on it just fine, its fast enough for my needs, has ample memory, etc.

i got a USB CD drive for it for 11 dollars on amazon too.
Yeah that fucker is cheap, but one day it started beeping and never stopped.

Needless to say I lost all saved porn vids and pics (I’m old school).
holy shit you are old school, who saves porn these days when you can stream that shit.

i think best buy gives me some sort of warranty with it - if it starts making any noise other than belladonna screaming while etting dp’ed they are gonna be getting a call from me…

EEE Pcs are pretty sweet. Especially if you were to add RAM. I have a full laptop with some bells and whistles since I had the money but I used a netbook for 2 years and wish I could go back. The size and battery life is under rated. The different positions and angles you can hold a netbook and lighter weight are so nice and the battery life is very nice because you can move around and stuff. My laptop is heavy and lower battery life (3 hours) so it gets pretty annoying. The screen is nice but after using a netbook for so long it doesnt mean much.

Get a pair of headphones because the speakers usually arnt to good. Gaming is also very limited.
sweet. this is why i’m looking at them (just need to figure which brand is best). I only need it for the train…music, vids, pubmed, porn etc, and since I hate carrying shit that’s bulky, i’m thinking it’ll be what I need.

i’m not a gamer, so that helps too.

just now looking at brands, reviews etc

The only stream going on is the one shooting out my donger.

I got an Acer Aspire One with an 8 inch screen (I’m not sure if they make these anymore) over a year ago and it is great for travel, internet and light office stuff. If you think you’ll be doing a lot of work on it I’d suggest looking at a larger setup- the key board on mine is small and takes some time to get acclimated to.

i first read this as “the only STEAM going on is the one shooting out my donger”, which is also funny

i’m going to be commuting on the train to our new office location a few times per week, and i’m looking for a netbook to buy.

now that they have been out for a while, anyone have good/bad experiences with theirs? brand recommendations? screen size? OS?

(i didnt see any other threads about this, but if there is one, just link it and call me “09”)
Personally I love my Asus Eee PC… I uped the ram from 1 to 2 gigs and installed windows 7 (the first windows OS that runs more efficiently)… I wouldnt trade it for the world. You really need the extra ram, its typically 18 to 28 dollars on new egg…

My friend bought an ACER and its also VERY nice… I almost wish I had bought it instead but its close either way…

the acer has that cool touch pad that’s similar to the iphone’s/mac’s touch screen

Based on price, I’d get a leapfrog.
