Do you know how often I wish the US would give New Jersey back to England?

About as often as we fail to think of the granola eating hippies far North?

Excellent. I grew up in Jersey. Where ya from in “The Garden State”?
I live in Gloucester County - South Jersey.

No shit. There’s still a couple farms left in Gl. Cty. I spent many drunken nights in Deptford and Glassboro. I grew up in deep, deep southern Cumberland County. Farmland, orchards, marshland, and salty bay air.

LMAO!!!

“I’m a Piney from m’head to m’hiney”

There are a bunch of farms around still. Probably not the number from your youth, but still plenty of open land here in Gloucester County.

I think most people underestimate the right of voting, at least I think this way. It wasn’t until I lost my right, and then had it restored. In the past, I never cared about issues or politics, until I saw it affect me personally. It felt good to vote in the last election, and our state elections to vote down increased taxes (fuck yea!). It’s kinda like saying “fuck you” without actually saying it.

How about only those who pay taxes?

Didn’t you guys fight a war over something like this, once?

You guys did too.

LOL. Good point!

What do you think? is it time to take this country out of the hands of those that are just here for a free ride? how do you do that you say? make is so only people who own land can vote (a mortage would count) but renting an apartment or what not would not…

Thoughts?
No. This is wrong on a lot of levels, but the easiest illustration is that there are quite a few educated, well-off professional individuals who CHOOSE to have an apartment downtown in the city rather than a home in the suburbs. Apartments aren’t just for broke ass college students, illegal immigrants, and welfare junkies.

I wouldn’t go that far, but I would be ok with voting rights only for those not on welfare.
Good luck with that one, the idea of drug testing welfare recipients(a positive test would lead to loss of benefits) was brought up and Congress screamed discrimination.

If we would have known ahead of time we’d end up the same anyway we might not have bothered.

Every dollar you pay in taxes counts as 1 vote. That’d help balance the fucking budget.
