You fools. I am near an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ buffet, cook yourself on your on gas grill. Motherfuckas.
Actually, one of the best “AYCE” spots I’ve eaten at was the UCLA cafeteria. Damn, that place is (was?) good.
If any of you ever find yourself in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, I give my highest recommendation to Doe’s. I just ate a 2 lb ribeye there and it was, without a doubt, the best steak I’ve ever had.
in atl there’s a AYCE korean bbq place called Cho Won in duluth… its about a 20 min drive from the city… lunch is the best deal about 18/person after tax and tip

Brazilian buffets kick GC’s ass six ways from Sunday. Unlimited meat of various species of slaughtered animal, and they bring that shit right to your table until you tell them to stop. Quality is also much better than any buffet I’ve ever been to.
It is a little more pricey than GC or Ponderosa though.
yeah if you want to spend $50/person
They lose money when I go. I easily finish more than $50 of meat.
No they dont.
Food is roughly 20% of what total costs in a restaurant.
And you dont eat meat for 250.
Yes , they do. One time I had a 24oz New York steak…stuck between my teeth.
Damn.

On the flip side, if anyone is ever in Toad Suck, Arkansas, don’t order the Reuben sandwich.

you talking about Toad Suck Ferry near Conway?
just hurt myself at a local BBQ buffet called Kelly’s. all you can eat under $10 tax included. has hash, rice, chicken perlo, stewed okra n tomatoes, soup, corn on the cob, baked beans, 3 or 4 different casseroles, greens, fried okra, salad bar, dessert bar(with homemade cobblers), fried chicken, bbq chicken, brisket, pork bbq, and other stuff. the place is clean and the food is good. there is a GC @5 miles from my house and I’ve never been to it.

Yep! When I was driving back east after finishing grad school in New Mexico, I ate nothing but Reuben sandwiches. I wanted to find the best reuben along the I-40 corridor West to East from NM to NJ.
I don’t remember the name of the place, but the “reuben” was like bologna, yellowish ‘sauce’, relish, cheese slice (like the individual wrapped cheese slices) all on a wonder bread hamburger bun.
Sounds like you hit the jackpot, though.
This thread reminds me when I saw a old buddy from from grade school working the steak station.
He kept the medium steaks coming all night, I think I ate 6 or 7 of those bad boys.

I have a restaurant near me that serves Reuben omelets. They are delicious. Only place in the whole big wide world where I have ever seen that on the menu.
Julie’s Cafe, Kalispell, MT.
I work at a hotel, Staffords Perry hotel in Petoskey, we serve Reuben omelets. Also the Wild Onion in Alden (these are all in MI) has a Reuben omelete. When I lived downstate the Coolidge Cafe had a Reuben omelete that was a masterpiece, don’t know if they still do.
I really love Reubens, SteelyD your Reuben tour sounds like a great idea. Coincidently I had the worst in my life in Maine, not sure of the name of the place, little place just off the A.T.

Push- I’m coming to Montana to lift with you, fish, and eat Reuben omellettes!
Thick- I wouldn’t doubt you got a bad reuben in Maine-- the ‘cuisine’ generally sucks.
Incidentally, the best reuben I got on that trip was at the now defunct “Joe’s Diner” in Frederick, MD.
