Workout #11 - Check Please!
Today was brutal. Woke up yesterday @ 6am to workout, then drove home and got in bed at about 1am this morning.
Got up about 7:30am, ate some breakfast, did some moving / unpacking.
Went and worked out at about 11am.
Just got to say I was dog tired…
Managed the warm up fine and moved through the cardio part fine.
The 6 sets of Strength program were tuff with 20 sec rest only but I moved fast and upped weight on my sets over last week.
Then the dreaded cardio strength portion kicked in… Dang you Waterbury!
4 sets of 20 were brutal. I was digging as deep as I could to move fast and finish these bad boys. Even with the 60 seconds of rest between each set I was huffing and puffing.
I have been amazed at how well I’ve adapted over the last 3 weeks to this much cardio (compared to say none…) and can only say those who have never done cardio should really be ready for a kick in the crotch. I feel I adapt well for a 35 year old guy, but I’ll be honest as I continue to look at the stuff coming down the pipe, it makes you wonder if you’ll stroke out first or be ripped at the end.
Oh well here’s to a day off tomorrow, and nursing a sore ankle (think I tweaked it some running in the sand/water @ the beach).
Pictures tomorrow just cuz I didn’t get any this week on monday and I’ll take measurements too as I had no access to a scale all week @ the beach (though I supposed I could have raided a Wal-Mart for one).
Measurements / Pics for Week 3
Weighed 188lbs… was on vacation so ate more then i would normally but who knows
we’ll see how monday’s weight is.
Waist shows 36.25 so thats .75 inches smaller then last measurement @ week 1.
Couldn’t find fat calipers… still looking but wife was ‘cleaning’ my desk (aka puts stuff where I cant find it).

Workout #12 - Given it all she’s got Captain!
Another week down. 13 More to go!
Weighed myself this morning for kicks and weighed 186.4lbs Man i love the difference between each day 8p
Today’s workout was all about really keeping the pace going. Managed to finish it in 25 mins
Jump Roped 4 mins
Finished rest of warmup’s
4 Sets 22 split jacks / 12 Squat thrusts (no rest)
12 sets Wideout drop / pushups 1/2/3/4/5/etc to 12 (no rest)
sprint 45 / walk 15 sec 5 sets.
Am beat beat beat…
On a TOTALLY different side note, for those of you who have vibram 5 finger shoes (I do) and you ever run at the beach in the water, make sure you wash them. Put mine in a bag, and pulled them out of my bag 2 days later… got to say they STANK bad… wore them anyways… but still I knew who that smell was @ the gym…
Workout #13 - Sometimes cheating can be good!
So today’s diet wasn’t so clean… i know I know… its important to eat right. I gave in and ate 2 servings of some candy which yielded about 400 calories… I felt guilty… but i got over it…
ANYWAYS… so the 4:30 mins of jump rope wasn’t easy by any means… feet felt heavy (had shoes on vs my vibram’s as they got to be washed) but managed to finish it off…
From here the workout blew me away… I felt amazing… though I pushed it for each workout, upped the weight on all my lifts, and only got 15 seconds rest between set, I actually felt ready to go at each lift. Yeah I was breathing hard, yeah my muscles were tired for each movement… but perhaps I need to up my calorie intake a little more if this makes workouts better
Feeling great right now (showered/post workout shake/BCAA’s). Not great enough to do the workout again, but still feeling good
Onward to tomorrow and the dreaded sprint drills!
Workout #14
Rule 1: Cardio: How many fat people do you see at the end of the world when its zombies doing the ending?
(guess the movie line)
Sure we do cardio to look good, but lets face it, we want to be the ones alive when zombies attack…
Today’s workout was ruff mainly on my quad’s/hammies.
Jump rope was good as usual but when I hit my squat thrusts, wide out drops, my legs were killing me… from my knee’s to my waist (yes even the old buttocks) were on fire and wore out. Even doing pushups was taxing as they had to be supported through them all.
I was actually surprised during my sprinting how well it went. Was sweating like someone who sweats alot, but I think those around me who got a free shower didn’t mind too much.
Looking forward to finishing this week out and then moving to a whole new painful routine
Workout is getting a kink in it.
Flying out overseas on monday. Will be gone bout 18 days.
Just got 6 shots in my arms… (love vaccines). Bringing my jump rope/stop watch but odds are slim I’ll find a gym where I’ll be in Africa. Going to do what I can where I’m at but will probably be mainly cardio with no weights. Will post if/when i get online (internet is spotty as is the power).
So hold on and I’ll be back asap
Now to pack like a mad man and finishing getting my stuff together.
