This thread is too damn long AND uninteresting.
Key points: The black guy was 50. That makes all of the “young punk” debate at the start if the thread ridiculous…and I really wonder what the deal is with acting like simply being younger than someone else means you are more stupid.
The white guy is off his rocker. He may not be “clinically insane” but I wouldn’t exactly allow him to baby sit if any of you have kids.
As far as questions of whether he looks 50, many of the patients I see lately seem to be looking much younger into middle age. My mom is 60 but could pass for her late 30’s. Unless she is coloring it (and I have seen no signs of this) her hair isn’t even gray aside from a few strands. While not “clinically proven” I thought it was common knowledge that many people from Asian and African descent seem to maintain youthful characteristics longer assuming they actually gives a shit about their bodies at all.
As far as the ridiculous comments on the first few pages where one guy asked if all black people act like this…you know, drunk on a bus picking fights…some of you do show how racist you are quite often.
Neither of these guys did the “right thing”. We can applaud being able to handle yourself in your 60’s…but when the fight is against a weak looking 50 year old who is DRUNK, exactly how much props does the guy deserve?
This thread told me more about some of the posters here than anything else.

One last point…does anyone think that if the roles were reversed that people would be asking if all white people acted like that? Would the outrageous comments I read about this video concerning blacks as a whole even be there? Why is it that the discussion even exists unless the actions of one man somehow represent every single one of every member of a certain racial group if it ever gets caught on video?

X, no offense, but I think the LAST thing everyone wants is to turn this thread into a heated race discussion. Personally, I’ve been enjoying the pics and videos (as have other black members) for what they are - internet junk.

That’s cool that you enjoyed the videos. Is it that cool that statements like were made earlier can go up and no one even acts like they see it but if anyone responds to it, they get called on for noticing it?
All of those discussions we used to have in the political forum concerning these issues are because of instances like this.
This thread hasn’t been about simply laughing at the videos since the second post in this thread made age the distinguishing factor in their reaction.

Wait… WHEN was this a good thread? This entire thread has been nothing but older guys making fun of younger guys and white people making huge generalizations about black people mixed in with some people simply laughing at a drunk guy without even knowing all of the details before or after the video clip.
Yet NOW it is an issue for me to address one of the many occurrences in this thread that related this action to blacks as a whole?

I disagree with this. If someone else is drunk and mouthing off to me and HITS ME, I’m going to hit back.
It’s no surprise that alcohol lowers your inhibitions to fight. Who knows how far he’d have taken it?
Obviously, it’s in public and I doubt anyone would’ve gotten SERIOUSLY injured… but being drunk isn’t an excuse for “EBM” not to beat the other guys’ ass.

Right…because white guys asking “are all black people like this?” based on a video of ONE drunk black guy on a bus happens in reverse ALL of the damned time. How dare I notice and comment on blatant ignorance. Most of the “opinion” in this thread is based on stereotypes and half understood information…like the age of the guys in question, the comments that started the altercation or the fact that one of them was even inebriated (as most seem to believe the black guy literally spoke like a drunk person even when not drunk).
What I did find hilarious was the loud talking female egging the action on…because I’ve experienced that way too much leading me to wonder why guys still allow themselves to be goaded into dumb action like this so often. I swear most fights are probably started by, “baby, you gonna let him talk to you like that!?”.

No, what sucks is that minorities still can not be seen as individuals. The actions of one still somehow represent every one of us…as if some drunk unknown guy on a bus somewhere in a fight has jack shit to do with me or any other black person in the country. Negative actions do not get compared to economic background or the basic culture surrounding near poverty but skin color…as you so well put it.
