We got after it as well. Weeding, DE filter deep clean, getting the pool ready for summer. Still a long way to go but progress is progress.
Is the koi pond a lot of maintenance. That’s something that I’ve always wanted to do. You have those big koi or just little guys? Sounds like you had a pretty good day my froend
There’s plenty of stuff that I’ve been putting off for way too long, including some indoor stuff I could have done this winter, just chose not to.
Sounds like a nice day for you as well. The koi pond isn’t too bad on maintenance, but it’s not a huge one either. Here’s the picture from last August when I first put it in:
The hardest thing about it is keeping the water clear. I put some clarifier in it last fall that clumped up all the algae and deoxygenated the water, killing all but 3 of my koi. Now I’m more careful about that, and I bought a little electric pump for draining it out and sucking the gunk out. I also have a submerged filter/fountain aerator. I have 1 good big koi, about 2 lb, and 2 smaller ones that may get that big.
Plenty of leaning was done yesterday, I assure you.
Thanks, man, it’s nice that I’m able to continue to increase my training maxxes while dropping bodyweight. I’m actually going to mess around this afternoon and try to hit a 1RM press. Since my weight is down I might be able to finally hit the elusive bodyweight strict press. I’ve put 225# overhead with a push jerk, but I’ve never broken 200# on a strict press. I’ve hit 195#, but that was at about 205# bodyweight. I’m not expecting to get 200# right now, but I think I’ll be good for 190#, at 187# bodyweight.
Dang. The most I’ve ever hit was 185 at 195 bodyweight. I’m hoping to hit a bodyweight press after I finish dieting. That’ll be crazy if you PR while dieting. At least it’ll be easier to get a good strength to bodyweight ratio haha
You’ve got a Jag, please tell me it’s an E-Type.
I would turn green (british racing green) of envy if you got one.
That is the elusive car I would love to own.
Regarding training, BW press is awesome, I just need to lose another 45 lbs then I’ll be there
So you just go in and kill it, don’t be surprised if you hit a big one.
Regarding the lift, we’ll see if I hit my target or not. It’s easy to talk about hitting 190#, another thing entirely to actually do it. I hit 3x170# on a joker set last cycle, so I think I have it in me. I plan to hit my work-up sets, then do singles to a 1RM before dropping back down for my AMRAP set.
Funny I wouldn’t have taken you as a jag or convertible guy. I envision you cruising in an old bronco. Funny how someone’s personality can be conveyed through a vehicle. I’m a truck guy through and through. Here’s mine. 2015 F150.
You’re not too far off, actually. My daily driver is a beat up 1999 blue dodge 1500. The Jag was a mutual purchase the wife and I made a couple years ago when we were down in Texas, sort of a present to ourselves. I do like that truck of yours, but I’m out of the new vehicle business until I’m done paying spousal support to the ex, which will be just under 3 years from now.
In Texas they make you have a front liscense plate. Vehicles look so much better without it though. Texas police will usually give you a warning for no plate so I wait until they flag me on it if I get a new vehicle. Made it a few years with my current truck, but alas guess we gotta play by the rules
Of course you have a monster truck. I drive a brownish 2003 Chevy Tahoe! One of these days I’ll have a nice truck, but thanks to that nightmare rental property I bought it’ll be like 10 years before I can afford it.
That’s not even my best ride, although the other one is down in Texas in my Mom’s garage until I build a new garage up here for it. It was my dad’s car, here are some pictures from when I showed it at a car show back in summer of 2016, right after he passed away. My mom was going to sell it, and I couldn’t bear to let it go out of the family, it was his baby…
