Oil Prices Go Down, Gas Goes Up

Deal breaker, as they would be taken over by the machine of the party they affiliated with. As what happened to the so-called progressives of the Democratic Party.

So, who have you voted for on the national scale? Just curious because I don’t see any real options that aren’t affiliated.

It seems to me from all of his posts that @castoli is a defeatist when it comes to political elections. He is worse than me. I vote against what I consider the worst candidate. He doesn’t bother to vote at all. That seems defeatist by my understanding of the word.

I thought he might be trying to start a grassroots movement to establish a political party. I have asked him how many followers he has acquired thus far. I am waiting a reply. Maybe these things take time.

I also wonder how far removed the platform of his ā€œutopiaā€ party* is from the Marx party. How would it be different?

*(that is my title until he decides on a formal name)

  • Fossil fuels are the chief driver of modern quality of life. 96% of items have fossil fuel them including medicine, food (via nitrogen fertilizer), shelter and clothing.

  • The abundance of energy from fossil fuels directly resulted in the modern era.

  • there are less deaths due to climate related issues today than during any point in human history

  • fracking is the #1 driver of environmental progress. Seriously. Due to the vast amounts of natural gas gained from the proliferation of fracking, the US has taken over 100 coal electric generation facilities offline since 2011, replaced by natural gas facilities. This has allowed the US to lead the world in CO2 reduction by volume

  • green Energy doesn’t really exist. Sure, there are lower carbon energy sources, but taking the entirety of life cycle into account all energy sources have an impact. Wind and solar are renewable, wind turbines and solar panels are not. We need more energy, in all forms

  • fossil fuel companies are investing heavily in wind, solar, hydrogen and ammonia, and other sources. There are entire divisions in the super majors focused specifically on growth in that sector

Informative.

So if I don’t vote for a Dem or Rep, that means I don’t vote at all?

Yes, those things take time and I am not an organizer.

And 1 of the, if not the main destroyers of our planet. All for profit.

Source?

Again, source? hard to believe they would be invested in the demise of their greatest source of profits. When they love stuffing their overstuffed pockets with more cash.

1987 report Our Common Future . It defined sustainable development as meeting ā€œthe needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needsā€

And that is the direction we should follow.

The Green Party the last 2 elections and the Libertarian Party prior.

I’ll source later but I’m the meantime just look it up, it’s not hard to find. Choose any: BP, Exxon, Chevron. Chevron just had a big hydrogen announcement.

The oil and gas industry is driving prosperity, and consumers all play a role. Name one thing in your vicinity that you own that Doesn’t use oil and gas in some way. Do you drive a Tesla? Lots of oil in that. Bike? Tires, paint, pedals and chain oil. Contacts or glasses? That’s an easy one. Did you grow all of your own food? If not, thank Oil and gas. Is your phone/laptop
Handmade from wood? My point being, every human is a consumer and has a role to play, and if these evil Oil and gas companies and the millions of hard working people employed by it stopped working tomorrow - the resulting loss of life would be sudden and catastrophic

Is there room for improvement? Yes! There is not a single person in the industry of credibility who thinks things can’t be done better, and are working hard to make things better every day

The Green Party is merely a subsidiary of the Democratic Party and the Libertarian Party isn’t much better with the Republicans.

I don’t think your voting is as pure as you seem to think.

Wow and you actually believe these guys?

And also the destruction of our planet.

And what is ethical consumption in a capitalistic country?

How so? I’d argue that the Libertarians are closer to the Reps then the Greens are to the Dems.

I had always thought that the Libertarian Party is to the right of the Republican Party, except for the Libertarian stand on capital punishment.

If anyone believes these petroleum companies are too stupid to not become flexible to energy sources, they have to believe the companies are as dull as they are

Yes because there is money to be had

I’d agree at the national level. Bill Weld? For Christ sake.

These companies are interested in what can make them the most profits in the shortest amount of time.

Show your intelligence and add, ā€œā€¦for the longest amount of time.ā€ In other words, stay in business tomorrow.

Not every company is like Keuffel & Esser. They made some of the very best slide rules money could buy. You are probably too young to understand.
