Yes. Next question.
When the NCAA starts with the banhammer of all the top SEC teams will you be sad?
As I indicated in my original post…if you aint cheating you aint tryin. Is there a Big12 flag football thread?
Nah, I have been pushing for a 4 big conference with an East and West like we used to have it back in the day with SWC and SEC

Neither one would beat Bama, LSU, A&M, UGA and probably not Florida(Still wondering about the QB situation for Florida) I would give at least one of them a win over South Carolina. Now that’s a stretch.
They would beat Florida and A&M. Don’t know about UGA. No chance against LSU or Bama.

I asked a question several days ago (about Mack Brown) in that thread and nobody said anything. That thread seems to have died and I don’t really know why.

That would be awesome. I say we end up with something like that eventually. Everybody is getting tired of the NCAA’s crap.

I dunno about “they”. Oregon yes. Ohio State is immensely overrated I think.

Exactly. People will eventually stop watching, the die hards will not stop. But the money is in the fair weather fan, and if you dont have some parity, you will end up losing potential revenue.
Bowl games are a thing of the past and a fucking sports writer and a computer figuring out who is the best is also a thing of the past.
Let them decide it on the field and you will have a better product.
Also pretty sure Saban made a deal with the devil and is doomed to walk the earth as a fat guys jock strap.

I am really curious to see the Ole Miss-A&M game. Ole Miss had that game won last year till they blundered it away in the last couple minutes of the 4th. Bama is going to beat them down though. I think a third place SEC West finish would be a spectacular season for them.
Fourth would be a success, means you beat the teams you were supposed to beat, lost to the ones you were supposed to lose to which are 3 pre season top 10 schools. I think LSU and Bama are going to be standing atop the mountain of the SEC once again this year. Georgia’s D will keep them in third.
Where would you rank Oregon and Ohio State if they had to play in the SEC?
I think Ole Miss is just too young to beat Bama right now. They definitely have the talent and may pull it off, but I don’t see it.
As far as Oregon, they would kill FL (no offense) and they would outlast A&M (no defense). IMO, if they played Bama this weekend ORE would come out on top. But with a full year to work out the kinks and a month to game plan and condition, Bama would take it. And I’d like to think LSU would follow suit in the same situation (LSU fan here).
As far as OSU, granted I don’t follow the BIG"10" as close, but I think they are over-rated due to lightweight scheduling for the past few years. I’d put them behind South Car and in front of FL. I’d say a game between Ole Miss and OSU would be a toss up.

THIS. Finally a rational SEC fan. I didn’t know you guys existed? lol
The reason Oregon dominates teams is that they wear them down with their fast pace.
They haven’t faired so well in big bowl games because of the 4-6 week lay off where the opposing defense has time to get their conditioning on par. Those huge lay offs are a HUGE disservice to oregons O.

There is some merit in that. When Oregon and Auburn played in 2010 neither offense played especially well. Both were fast paced HUNH teams. I think teams who run that offense also play better defense against it too.
The biggest knock against Oregon is that the size difference I think beats them up as the game goes along. With that said, that is against the elite of the SEC, Auburn and LSU in 2011 to start the season. You could almost tell in that LSU game, that as that game drug along, they didn’t really know how to handle being in a punch you in the mouth kind of war where the DE’s are as fast as the RB’s.
One play in particular, LaMicheal James broke threw the line for what would have been a huge gain and a linebacker grabbed him from behind. The SEC schools seem to try to take the Stanford approach to Oregon, only they are better at it. Again I am referring to the elite of the SEC, obviously not Tennesse. Ask Csulli if he thinks Oregon is for real.

There are a lot of irrational fans everywhere but the SEC has them in spades. I was talking to a couple of diehards from Ole Miss the other day and they were talking about them probably winning the west this year. I couldn’t really think of anything to say to that.
Only ones worse are probably the delusional fans of the Big 10.
UGA grad here and even I am thinking that you have over-rated UGA. They typically choke in the big spot. If they beat LSU (which they won’t) they have smooth sailing to Atlanta in December.
Also, I’d have the Cocks above the Gators and UT farther down (that is one UGLY looking team this year).

Probably right about SC over Florida but I didn’t watch their game Saturday and don’t know how their #2 QB looked. From what I have heard he looked pretty good. My teams from 10 on down are pretty much a crap shoot since all of them appear to suck. I think UT and AU are on their way back though. I still say UGA handles LSU this week. Go Dawgs.

Gators #2 was sharp, but UT is so shaky this year.
I remember just a few years ago when UF-UT was can’t miss TV and now it is a sub-par matchup.
Do you think that Muschamp makes it through the year?

Lets make predictions on this weekends Steel Cage Death Match in Athens, GA.
Georgia vs. LSU
Last week I would have said LSU wins by 10 points. However, I watched LSU quit against Auburn Saturday night. Maybe it was the big early lead. Maybe it was looking ahead to Georgia. Either way, they didn’t want to be there and Auburn should have beaten them. I give UGA a touchdown because this game is not being played in Death Valley. I say Georgia wins a close game with a late score. The law of averages says that Aaron Murray can’t keep laying eggs in big games forever. He will eventually win one and this may be it.
Also, my Auburn Tigers will NOT lose this weekend. I guarantee that.
What do you know. I was right for a change. UGA beats LSU in a close game with a late score and Auburn didn’t lose. Yeah me.

I obviously don’t know anything. I was so wrong about the LSU game.
I will now say that UGA can pencil in a trip to Atlanta in December. I also think that if Gurley is healthy, then they have a shot at beating Bama.
(Maybe Auburn should hire KIFFEN??? JUST KIDDING, Brother!)
Agree…strongest Men’s Football Conference in the Nation, hand’s down.
Man…could you IMAGINE the “Tri-Fecta” of OU, Texas and A&M going to the SEC? It not for Texas, my understanding is that it was close to happening at one point…
Tigers are gonna give me a heart attack this year. I’m not sure I’m liking the trade off, give me defense and a run game over all that throwing. What the hell happened to the o-line? Better get that figured out.
I think they match up well with Bammer although both teams have time to shore up some weak spots. Both teams go into the game after a bye. Bama is gonna have to put up some points (they did vs A&M). LSU is gonna have to run the ball.
Very next game is A&M and they may very well hang 70 on the LSU defense that played Georgia. After a big game against Bama this could get real ugly. That’s how the Aggies got Bama last year. I would probably go ahead right now and take the over. Both teams will also go into this game after a bye.
Georgia absolutely has the east wrapped up. They will need Gurley in Atlanta, hope the ankle heals up.
