so SDSU just banned my vibram 5 finger shoes yesterday. If they don’t abolish that fucked up rule i will be switching gym to Worlds Gym in PB[/quote]

Damn it!, I was going to enroll there.

I can’t go to a school that doesn’t let me wear my hippie toe sock thingies

3 months ago the fitness director wanted to ban them because he said they were not athletic shoes…but it became obvious to him he was wrong so he never really enforced the banning. But now he IS enforcing the ban because he says they are not close-toed shoes.

many of his employers and personal trainers there are writing emails to him to complain. I am going to go a step further and contact the Associated Students who actually run the rec center.

Hahaha it is still a good school with a great gym and tons of hot girls. Just can’t wear the vibrams. I just don’t like to follow rules based off ignorance. And i do have a slight feeling he will allow them if enough of his employees and customers complain

wow thats a pretty stupid rule. Hopefully he changes his mind (and I’m sure he will)

Isnt the definition of a “close toed shoe” a shoe that isnt open and covers the toes?

How dare you with your “common sense”?! SLAP

^^Yeah I really do find the old saying “Common sense isn’t very common” to be very true sometimes

How’d the meeting go?

Anyway I’m thinking of doing a semester at the University of California next year. Is the San Diego campus good? Cool perks, bad stuff etc…?

x2 Could some give a quick overview of the local colleges?

gyms that ban certain footwear are fucking hilarious. You really think its gonna make a difference if you’re barefoot, or wearing shoes when you drop a 120lb dumbell on your foot? Yeah, I don’t think so.

^^I dropped a 45lb plate on my toe while wearing my vibrams. It hurt so bad and only smashed one of my toes. I lost that toe nail. Sucked

I’ll be joining you guys for conditioning in two months!

I graduated there from Marshall College as a Physiology and Neuroscience major.

My POV for the colleges are:

Marshall- (Ethnic studies themed) Well rounded. I have tons of fun in the dorms. The buildings are setup so that each floor has 2 dorms with space for 8 girls on one side and 8 on another. Also has best food usually and open the latest.

John Muir- (Environment themed) Known as the lazy ass/best college to start off in since it has the least amount of GE requirements. Closer to the center of campus and is also a good choice. To me the food sucks here since it has a vegetarian emphasis.

ERC- (Women’s Power themed) Where the majority of the better looking and smarter girls are. It’s like a subconcious thing where they are all drawn to there just because of the college name. Also houses all international students too so take that as you will… they are known to be hard party-ers. Has the most amount of GE requirements as well as some of the most difficult. Has the most high-end food which means better quality but a tad more expensive than most of the other dorm-food places.

Revelle- First UCSD college. Also has some of the hardest GEs. Nothing really note worthy except that people inadvertently choose this place and regret it later.

Warren and 6th college- Not worth talking about. Avoid unless you are an engineer since their GE requirements also fulfill a lot of basic classes for that major.

In my opinion, best place to have FUN is 1) ERC, 2)Marshall, 3) Muir without regard to GE requirements. Reverse the order I listed if you want to go from easiest GEs to hardest.

Major downside here is if you are into partying is that we do not have a greek row which equals much less partying here but if you are well connected or diligent I’m sure you could find them. However, if that is what you are into, SDSU might be a better choice in terms of partying. opportunities.

Hope that helps. Feel free to ask questions.

This would have been helpful when I was looking at ucsd and confused about the colleges, lol. I ended up choosing SDSU because of female population. Prob go to UCSD for Grad school though.

You mean STDSU?

You know I heard the same thing about ASU… I wonder which one is worse.

Though The Corps is a sausagefest, you haven’t seen dirty hoes till you’ve seen the ones in and around the military. College hoes seem innocent to me, lol
