If you’re looking for underground type of a gym you could check out World Gym. It’s in Pacific Beach so it’s not very close to the school but its probably along the lines of what you’re talking about.
The gym on 5th and Washington (well between Washington and University) won’t be full of old ladies. There will also be music blasting that’s for sure.

When you are finished working out at the ARC, go check out all the ladies laying out at the aquatic center. Man I miss that campus…

There’s a 24 hour fitness nearby (it’s the “stadium” one). There’s at least three of us who compete at powerlifting who go there and they’ve always been really good about letting me use chalk (I clean up afterward) and pretty much generally do whatever I need to do. They even have round metal plates instead of the hex ones.
Downside is that it’s mostly dudes and it’s old and smelly. My wife went once and said “your gym sucks but everyone is there to do work”. There’s also only one powerrack and one squat rack but typically I can get in on those.
But I haven’t been to the gym on campus so don’t know what they have for equipment.
Might as well not stop at the gym topic. Shoot, when I move down there where are the spots to hang out? I’m game for anything, beaches, girls, bars, bars on the beach with girls. What should I do in SD once I’m down there

I take it you are around 21 right? Most younger people usually like to go to PB.

The craft beer scene is huge here! If you’re into craft brews, SD is definitely the place to be![/quote]
If you’re older…or if you into wine, you can drive up to wine country (Temecula) and do some wine tasting tours. There are a couple of wineries in North County too.

Got another question for everyone. I went down to PB this last week looking for places to move into come August. Was down there for a week, applied for only one apartment, and it was given to another applicant. Just wondering if there were any other areas, or suggestions you guys have?
It’s me and my buddy that are moving down and our limit is 1600 for the two of us. We were thinking last resort we’ll try to rent 2 rooms from a house with other roommates. We would really like to stay in PB but if theres another cool place thats close to Sdsu, let me know!
North Park is a little more hipster, but there is a lot of cool bars and food places in the area that are in easy walking distance. It’s not really near the beach though.
If you’re attending SDSU why not live by the college? PB is not close to SDSU so you can in kinda choose one or the other. If you want the hot chick scene then I wouldn’t pick North Park. You can also keep trying in PB. It’s probably going to be tougher now that it’s summer but I would try craigslist and drive around a lot.

Really, no hot girls in North Park? I go over there to eat sometimes and I see plenty of hot chicks. Granted it’s not like the blonde bimbos you see in PB.
Living kind of close can be pretty expensive. La Mesa isn’t too bad and the trolley station is pretty close which makes it easy to get to class.

I didn’t say there were no hot chicks there because there’s hot chicks everywhere. Just that it’s not really the scene for that. Neither is La Mesa for that matter. Those are more community and family like than hot chick central.
