Official 2018 T-ransformation Announcement Thread

I can count the # of movies I watched on 3 hands, so no

One of Chris Tucker’s finest roles

One month mark coming up! Nothing earth shattering for me to report as I’m going the slow and steady approach

I did eat a whole Pieology pizza today though… sooooo…

I haven’t done my traditional cheat meal once a week so far so maybe I can count this as the kick off to my real diet

Better or worse than his once off appearance in Hangin’ with Mr Cooper?

Hmm… I usually eat after I train early, but if I’m feeling flat I’ll have a quick pb, honey and banana sandwich
Good honey and natural pb and it’s a pretty great pre workout

Serious question. I thought ulcers were bacterial you could treat with antibiotics. Has that changed or are there different types and you don’t have the bacteria one?

I was going to recommend you look at the positives, injuries and sickness can act as natural intervention for making wonderful changes, but it looks like you’re already doing that. So best of luck.

Ha not familiar with that one, but I’m sure its wonderful.

Well if misery does indeed love company, I found out this week that I am extremely hypothyroidic (at least explains why I need to go down to 1700 cals to cut), and have possibly inherited Hashhimotos from my Mother (auto-immune response to thyroid).

As a wonderful side effect I currently have the free T of a 100 year old man. Signed up with a doctor for the first time in 20 years yesterday so hopefully I can get seen soon and fix something.

My understanding is ā€˜yes but not always’. So, if you have an ulcer, or think you have one, you get tested for the bacteria. I tested negative for it. But all my symptoms suggest that’s what I have, and the other treatment (double dose of nexium) that is commonly used for ulcers is working well. The diet changes are partly related to my other issues I’m dealing with, but they also coincide with how you deal with an active stomach ulcer. Certain foods really irritate/exacerbate the problem.

On lifting days, my breakfast is 1/2 cups rolled oats with 1TBs natural JIF PB with a half cup of frozen blueberries to cool off the oats after microwaving them for 1.5 minutes. I’ll, throw in a scoop of protein from time to time as well (usually for DL and Squat days)

I also have 2 sccops Plazma shake for peri-workout. I eat again after I get home (eggs, cheese, bacon, Ezekiel raisin bread)

If I eat anything more than oatmeal before I train, I feel bloated and pukey.

Jump on the TRT train man.

When I had my T checked beginning of last year because I was so freaking lethargic, I was shocked at how low mine was.

May be where I end up, coming to terms with the possibility I might need to.

Short term hoping I can fix T level by fixing thyroid.

Def get the thyroid sorted and hopefully T will rebound if the thyroid hasn’t done too much damage by being out of whack.

Good luck man!

Isn’t also caused by stress? My wife has a stomach ulcer that come and go. Always when the stress rise up.

yea, stress is a factor. I have a relatively high stress job, and I have a 3 year old son. I do what I can to keep stress low, but it’s not always in the cards for me.

Stress is a killer. Question.
Do you take many NSAIDs like the bellow? Long term use in sports is common and can screw with you. A World Cup winning rugby player is now living with life long digestive issues after popping 8 ibuprofen pills a day. Not saying it the cause but could be a factor.

ibuprofen
naproxen
diclofenac
celecoxib
mefenamic acid
etoricoxib
indometacin

NSAIDS are fucking awful. No, I avoid those like the plague.

Progress? I mean, I’m not leaner but I’m bigger and not much fatter…

@flipcollar get well soon bud.

If it’s any condolence, I used to deal with stomach ulcers all the damn time.

Granted mine came from years of screwing up the natural gut flora that live in my digestive tract. And the actual onset of just eating in general messed me up something fierce.

Not sure if it’s something someone has suggested yet, or you’ve looked into it already, but perhaps see what you can do concerning the natural critters that help your disgestive tract? Can’t really grab any stats or studies at the moment concerning gut flora and ulcers, but maybe see if helping one can help the other? Not sure how much it would matter, but maybe give it a try.

You guys wanna hear a scary story?

The finish line is now only 17 weeks away. If you/I/we are gonna step things up into full-out cutting mode, now’s the time.

Missed or half-assed workouts, ā€œshouldn’t have had thatā€ meals, and excuses to skip cardio really need to start being minimized.

Sorta-related note: The February check-in thread is up, if anyone wants to toss up 4-week progress pics. I’m up a pound and a half, which is the same as saying I’m the same, which is the same as saying I got work to do.
