No. You’re supposed to understand that “Just work hard and you’ll be fine!” is a myth, that hardworking, educated people getting fucked over all the time.
No, it’s not a myth. Yes, some people do get fucked over. That’s life and that’s going to happen. It’s bound to happen to everybody in varying degrees. And, yes, sometimes all the hard work in the world just won’t help someone. But these people are the exceptions with exceptional circumstances. The vast majority of people would live richer, fuller lives if they did work a little harder and held themselves accountable for their actions.
You can’t be serious here? If someone can’t afford kids, they shouldn’t have them. Why is that so hard to understand? This isn’t about unbirths and reversing things. IF YOU CAN"T AFFORD KIDS, YOU DON’T HAVE THEM! Why is it that we preach safe sex and avoiding pregnancies to teens and expect them to mostly comply, but we don’t expect the same of our adults? At least teens have immaturity and raging hormones to blame.
No one will convince me otherwise. I left California just under eight years ago for financial and lifestyle reasons. I loved California, but I couldn’t justify my rent and I had things I wanted in life. I moved to Milwaukee and haven’t looked back (much). True not everyone can just up and move at any time, but if my choices were either rent or food–like a lot of these signs claim–I would be desperately looking at ways to lower my rent, including moving across the country.
Again, you can’t be serious? So some interpretive dance degree only offered at George Washington University is worth 120K is student debt? A math degree from South Harmon Institute of Technology isn’t good enough? Gotta have MIT?
And even if I did consider this a valid excuse to rack up a lifetime’s worth of debt, IT’S STILL A CHOICE. No one fucked anyone over here. An adult made a conscious decision to take on this debt because, presumably, they thought it was worth it.
Show me where I said anything about sickness. I didn’t. Sicknesses aren’t choices. (Although an argument could be made in many cases for lifestyle choices leading to sicknesses, but I digress.) There were a select few signs that rationally described unfortunate situations that truly seemed out of their hands, and I did have sympathy for them. But they were few and far between. Most of the signs appears to just be whiny kids.

Indeed.
I had the “pleasure” of walking through/by some of this crap today.
I was called “fucking kyke” and told to “go back to Israel” by some hairy, ugly, piece of shit(which is a little different than the normal socialist line, that being “leave the ME and go back to Europe”)
Socialist always start with us Jews, BTW.
Or they try to.

Interesting. Saw a video of one of these guys telling a Jew to “go back to Israel.”

Normally I agree with you…but those top 10% employ an ARMY of CPA’s and Tax Attorneys…they make all sorts of moves to avoid paying the percentage of taxes that a 50-100K person does.
Whatever. I paid over $1,000,000 in estimated taxes this year already. Yeah, a lot of it at 15%. Salary at 38% just like everyone else. I started with no money, busted my ass, and now employ several hundred people at great wages, and produce stuff that people want.
I also work 6 days a week, 12-14 hours a day, certain holidays excepted, and have risked my health, life, wealth, etc, to get where I am. I worked with 1 toddler and 3 daughters in diapers, no mom, all in the “extra” office next to mine, where I also happened to live.
I could just fucking leave and go be rich and play with my new grandbaby*, but I have employees who depend on me keeping the ship afloat.
You can officially blow me for thinking I don’t pay my share.

No, not me. It could have been the same putz, but I don’t think so.
And my wife wonders why I carry a Glock.
Hey Jewbacca quit talking your common sense around here. People may have a hard time understanding hard work, dedication along with earning what you work for. You might offend the weak minded my friend.
I commend u and if you ever need an employee in Dallas let me know.

If you are thinking of the guy calling him self lotionman on youtube, well after watching that vid I can conclude that he sucks, and I am more of a socialist than he ever will be be.
I still applaude the protests btw, but the “lotionguy” rubbed me the wrong way so to speak.
ps. Jewbacca: I will apologize on the behalf of my leftist brethren if some of them told you to get back to Israel, thats just racist and there is no way to explain that away, basickly its just shitkid behavior.
Agreed thats just a racist asshole. And not that it likely means anything to you coming from someone like myself but thats alot to be proud of and you sound like really interesting guy.

You completely misunderstood my point, I was referring to the MEGA rich (nine figures) not folks in your situation who are the real job creators.
Chillax my friend.
There’s nothing interesting or useful about this “movement”. And, it’s not a movement - it’s a tantrum. Jobs are not birthrights. And the protests aren’t impactful. They are like a camping trip for bored hipsters.
But in fairness to the vast bulk of the young people at these “protests”, they have been sold a false bill of goods by their elders about money, employment, property, and success. They’ve been told that a college degree provides instant economic security, then they are provided easy money to get the college degree that provides instant economic security.
Basically, they’ve been told that (1) the means is easy, and (2) the end is easy (and basically guaranteed). They don’t know where money comes from, and they have no concept of “paying your dues” - they all feel entitled to great, professional, fulfilling careers that pay well with great benefits and great vacations, and they feel shamed if along they way they have to get dirt under the fingernails.
That said, they don’t have much of an excuse for not applying common sense to these false tales. And look at the gaggle of “protestors” - state-of-the-art smartphones and digital cameras. Do they look they part of the dispossessed and the downtrodden? Of course not. They are, as has been remarked upon before, “middle class socialist brats”.
I am not happy with Wall Street - stated more clearly, I’m not happy with its institutionalized privilege. But if its “jobs” you want, you’re wasting your time protesting Wall Street, they ain’t going to hire you - you should head south and protest at those big white buildings in our nation’s capital. Many businesses have money to invest in new hiring - they just simply won’t come off the sidelines with the cash because of the uncertainty in the economy.
If unemployed hipsters want to be mad at someone for their plight, their energies are better directed to the folly of Hope and Change, or as history will remind us, the most tone-deaf misgovernance and misprioritization of national policy this country has seen in the modern age.
