I have a feeling this will be come back to haunt them…

Barring hard mandated price controls, I don’t see how this can be meaningfully done while a predominantly third party payer system is in place. If people had to pay at least their own non catastrophic medical expenses the costs would have to come down or nobody would ever get paid. The revolutionary notion of actually being responsible for one’s own bills might even spark some competition which should drive down costs a bit more. Might increase quality overall too.

It seems they’re shutting down protests in Boston with a great show of force. No reports of violence though.

They where not shut down the occupiers where told not to move across the street, they didn’t listen the police came informed them of the trespass, protesters refused to leave, protesters where arressted.
Don’t worry my tax dollars are still paying for the little darlings wifi, the police, details, and everything else my Mayor likes the little darlings and is doing everything to coddle them.

I think we agree on this, for the most part. That’s why I support removing the connection between insurance and the employer and let people have portable policies. And it’s why I would allow insurance companies to compete across state borders.

But I don’t have a problem with third party payers, as long as we these payers are insurance platforms, not health care platforms. Spreading risk over a pool is a good idea. And I am fine with people having to pay more for more of their own “nuts-and-bolts” medical treatments, and leave the insurance to cover “unforeseen calamity” - i.e., the catastrophic events.

But, ultimately, health care costs won’t go down until the citizenry adopts a legitimate commitment to being healthy. Our exorbitant health care costs are driven by behavior that occurs long before someone gets medical attention and spends money in the system. Our problem is more cultural than anything - we have it in our heads that we can do whatever we feel like and that if bad consequences occur, there’s a pill or a surgery to repair the damage. And now, of course, we think all too often that we can rely on someone else to pick up the tab for that pill or surgery.

It’s the worst of all possibilities - freedom with practically no personal responsibility.

And, we always live in a world of limited resources, and every dollar that is spent on someone who can help themselves but won’t is a dollar that can’t be spent on someone genuinely in need of help. This trade-off guts any legitimate notion of “free” health care.

I don’t know, what street?

Pearl St

Unlawful assembly he said. Well okay, if it’s unlawful then it’s okay.

There is a park AND a street you asked the street name I gave it
Do they have a permit? The Tea Party needed a permit, where they told to dispurse? They didn’t comply my only problem is the police didn’t bring in the horses. Look the flea party are allowed in one spot they tried to go someplace else where they where not allowed and got arrested.

Now this shit ^^^^ just irritates me.

People act like they went to the bank and were told somebody took their cash.

Are you paying attention?

Looks like the Obama = Hitler people showed up at the DC protest.

“Guess Who Showed Up At Occupy DC?”

http://www.commentarymagazine.com/2011/10/11/occupy-dc-obama-signs/

From the article:

"Unsurprisingly, the LaRouche group?s appearance at the Occupy DC protests hasn?t received any coverage from the mainstream media, which never apologized for smearing the Tea Party as racists over the signs back during the health care debate. And apparently the LaRouchians aren?t too pleased the media gave the Tea Party credit for their signs, as the Media Research Center?s Joe Schoffstall found out yesterday.

Another photo of the LaRouche group below:"

Judging by some of the responses here, I’d reckon not.

I would hate to ruin anyone’s preconceived notions of those involved in the “Occupy” protests, but from what I know and have been told by a friend who helped organize the Occupy Boston protest, there are people from all walks of life and of all political backgrounds. Far from a bunch of stupid hippies that need to get a job.

The “Occupy” protests were created and organized by Patrick Gaspard, Obama’s equivalent of Karl Rove. Gaspard’s involvement is not a secret or a remotely controversial fact, despite what your “friend” may claim.

The SEIU is providing food and money to many of the protestors.

In sum, this is pure leftist orchistrated theatre, right out of the National Socialist Beer Hall Riots or the Marxist October movements of the pre-Soviet era, down to blaming Jews and bankers for all the failures of socialist government and academia.

Hell, go to Brooklyn and smash up Jew stores like Al Sharpton did.

The pogrom is the inevitable next step of this kind of crap.

Anyone seen the pic of the guy taking a shit on the cop car at one of these protests ?

This is the Democratic equivalent to the Tea Party, yet those protestors seem to forget that Obama hasn’t arrested a single banker or fat-cat himself. It’s awful hard to ask for campaign money when demonizing a CEO.

The Democrats have given their support to these folks. There are socialists attending. Boldy, I might say. Like t-shirts and signs, boldly. And they seem be a rather frequent occurrence. Therefore, the Democrats support socialism.

Yeah, it’s the Democrats’ tea party. I’ll go with that. And, have a bunch of turn-about-is-fair-play fun with it.
