Premiums jump $3k despite Obama vow…
The average employer-provided family health insurance premiums have climbed $2,976 since 2009, according to an annual Kaiser Family Foundation survey released this week. They’re up $3,671 compared with the year before President Obama took office. That’s despite Obama’s repeated promises that the health care reform law he championed would cut premiums by $2,500 in his first term.

Out of curiosity, if a person looses their benefits through their company. Their next option is to either buy their own private insurance, or sign up for govt insurance, right?

It will cost more than what they were paying at UPS.

You want to know how much your employer pays for your coverage? Take COBRA and subtract what you are paying out of every paycheck (annualize it and divide by 12) That figure is how much your employer is paying for you to have benefits. The people that will be going to the exchanges will have to pay the full amount unless they qualify for subsidies. If working for UPS that is going to be very little if any.
