Also, where are all of his articles from his time as editor of the Harvard Law Review? I sure would think one as distinguished as Obama would have wrote more than one article while at Harvard.

If you can’t find any of these, could you at least point me in the direction of his Illinois state senate records? How about an article or two from when he was a professor in Chicago?

As you mention, no one can turn up marriage licenses for either of his mother’s claimed marriages, and also neither her birth certificate nor the birth certificates of her parents or even her grandparents can be found. Or a marriage certificate for her parents.

Additionally, while Obama tells of his grandfather’s military service, no records of that have been found either.

I think that’s a very interesting subject. At this point in the Bush administration we were hearing all about Karl Rove. “Rove is the man behind Bush”. “Bush cannot think for himself.”
Bla bla bla bla… an endless stream of attacks accusing Bush of having powerful handlers that really run the country. But, for some strange reason not a word about the people behind Obama. Nothing. I’d be willing to bet that if they were exposed it would send a chill up the spine of every good American. So, you can be sure that the press will do its level best to HIDE THE FACTS.

I’ve only read a few articles on this, but my sense is that this is nothing more than political posturing. A meaningless action of little consequence that will provide a talking point most won’t question.

“I capped spending”

This means nothing unless he plans to cap all gov’t spending. If this is a case he will certianly get a christmas card from my family this year. If not, there is not sufficient data in the statement to provide even a spec of value. Just a hunch, but I believe this is nothing more than planned campaign fodder.

Right. My contention is that this is only being done so they can say the capped spending. Some may argue that it’s as step in the right direction, but this is not their intent.

They know it’s meaningless. They just want to say they capped something. They’ll say GWB never capped spending. Many will not ever question this assertion when it’s made. Many a media personality will forget it was cap only on discretionary spending that didn’t amount to shit.

Very few people were ever enthusiastic about McCain. So much not, that I think few waste their time thinking “If only McCain…” Rather the thought would be, If only there had been a good candidate.

However, McCain would have been extremely unlikely to spend so insanely on the “stimulus,” would not have pushed a “buy a $15K/year health plan or pay a $25K fine or go to prison” health bill, would not have pushed for “cap and trade,” etc. He probably would have spent the same on bank bailouts however.
