Obama Sees Progress on Oil Spill

I think the first comment on this article really sums it all up:

Obama heading to Louisiana for oil spill update… to see how BP is handling his responsibility.

LOL - when i read the title, my first reaction was “progress on the oil spill”? why yes - it’s made it all the way to Florida - great progress . . . now about fixing that darn leak . . .

The Leader knows and feels all. “The Leader is good, the Leader is great, we surrender our will as of this date.”

He is incompetent in economics and has low leadership skills. Ya think maybe we should have hired someone with, ya know, leadership skills? A track record of problem solving?

But on the other side of the coin: he rouses up a crowd so well! He gets Paul McCartney to make an absolute asshole of himself! He makes women faint!

Wow, what a leader of the free world!!!

Turns out this was prophetic: Barack Obama The Magic Negro - YouTube

Oil spill progress? Yeah I seen the news. Dumb ass motha fuckas! Progress is completely stopping the flow. Anything short of that is failure. BP just fucked the wildlife right up!

I love when Obama tells us bullshit stories about his kids and random people:

When I was eleven I was more articulate than his kid and I had no super special private schooling at any point.

I am really disappointed he took responsibility for the spill. I mean sure his administration said the rig was safe, but BP is the one at fault.

This is why deep sea offshore drilling should not be done, but since the environuts kept pushing them farther and farther off shore when things finally happened it turned into what we see today.

^ so you would rather Obama didnt take responsibility for it? Its unfortunate that his might paint him in a bad light in the future. On the other hand not taking responsibility would put him in a position where he wouldnt be able to control what the public said about him.

“BAD OBOMA! He wouldnt even take responsibility for what he did!”

Now at least there will be people saying
“Yeah he fucked up but how many presidents would have taken responsibility and worked as hard as he did to clean it up.”

He could have spent his entire time in office making America great. Canada would have benefited from a more stable North America. Now he has to spent all his time cleaning up messes he didnt make and taking responsibility for stuff eh didnt do.

YO! WTF BIRDS! Get the hell outa the oily water!..dumb birds.

I don’t post often and I always state that I know little about the workings of American politics but…

In this situation; just what is Obama expected to do?

I don’t mean the wider debate about off-shore drilling and how this situation was allowed to happen, but on the American news reports I have seen, Americans seem to expect him to pull his pants over his trousers like Superman, swim down and plug that sucker up single-handedly!

Could you explain to this Brit just what you expect him to do?

DISCLAIMER: BP hasn’t been a British company for over 10 years so we’re not to blame! (just thought I’d get that in)

WHAT?! British Petroleum is…British? ahaha. Could have been American owned but since its not that give us just yet another scape goat.

We expected him to help navigate through the bureaucracy and red tape in order to implement the actions necessary to minimize the devastating effects of such a colossal fuck up. An example would be to have gotten clearance for the sand berms that would have protected much of the wet land sanctuaries instead of sitting around with his thumb up his ass and waiting for someone else to do the hard work.

I guess his vast experience as a “community organizer” never prepared him for this. As it turns out, papering telephone poles with fliers and bitching for others to enact change rather than enacting and leading change for yourself seems to have zero effect on the tidal flows of massive oil spills.

Who would have thunk it…

This is just what we need on this forum: a little objectivity.

You’ve got to love 2 party systems.

In all seriousness how the fuck IS he supposed to stop it? And why is it solely HIS responsibility?

Whats the proper response? Nuke the fucking oil well? Its 100 degree highly pressurized oil shooting out of a ruptured 2 inch thick steel pipe over a fucking mile under the surface. But of course us keyboard-warriors have all the answers, right?

Its just an expansion of the idea that the public sector has to clean up after the private sector’s epic fuck-ups. I’d think alot of the Cons on the board would be more for BP cleaning up its own fucking mess. (Like John S. was 2+ weeks ago).

All I want to know is where all are those celebrities (kayne!) who were so mad at Bush over Katrina while the WORST ecological disaster in American history is being mismanaged by Obama?

Steffy: U.S. and BP slow to accept Dutch expertise - we denied an offer of assistance from people with equipment and expertise? Great job Big 0

BTW - the Jones Act only applies to goods transported BETWEEN US ports . . .

Big O’s excuse of the day: won’t talk to the BP CEO because BP has a board of directors . . .

Obama also want BP to pay the salaries of all the people that were laid off, because the Obama administration put a moratorium on deep water drilling.

yeah - exactly how smart is it to further hamper the economies of the gulf states already damaged by the triple hit of economic conditions, clean-up costs and lost tourist revenue by crippling the only thriving economic activity that they have? Yep. . . . smart plan right there . . .
