Leaked tape of Obama giving orders to Netanyahu.
He "expect"s to be obeyed according to the transcript:
US and Israel both deny it. However, note the identical, word for word tweets:
Dan Shapiro
Have seen reports of an alleged Obama-Netanyahu transcript; neither reports nor alleged transcript bear any resemblance to reality 1/2

Dan Shapiro
Shocking and disappointing someone would sink to misrepresenting a private convo between POTUS and PM in fabrications to Israeli press 2/2

PM of Israel

Anyone else find it strange that Bibi tweeted an identical, word for word copy of Shapiro’s tweet?
Could be that they saw Shapiro’s tweet and decided to just “copy” it.

Isn’t that an odd thing to do?

Perhaps their propaganda…ummm, I mean, public relations teams believed a coordinated (verbatim) response would be best?

Perhaps the leak is genuine but out of diplomatic courtesy the Israelis agreed to deny it. I’m not saying I know - just speculating as it seems a little odd to me.

Oh, who is privy to what is said on arguably the most secure communications line in the world besides the POTUS himself? If a leak did take place, this high ranking official, who apparently has unfettered access to the POTUS’ personal phone calls, certainly would not release its contents to a rag like Jihad Watch.

It is not alleged that it was released to Jihad Watch. It is alleged that it was released to an Israeli newspaper.

My mistake. But still, its extremely unlikely that such a leak occurred.

Regardless, what we do know is that Kerry has alienated not only the Israelis but Egypt and even the PA. That’s a pretty big achievement.

Is that surprising given the situation at hand? Diplomacy is a delicate balancing act even among friends. If there a diplomat alive who could resolve the intractable Israel-Palestinine conflict?

The Obama administration’s foreign policy in the region has been an absolute disaster. Kerry should’ve attempted to form an Israeli/Egyptian/PA consensus in an attempt to isolate Hamas. Instead he’s literally backed Hamas against Israel/Egypt/PA. As Mark Steyn said, Kerry represents a paradox: the physical presence of a geopolitical absence.

Which metric are you using to qualify that conclusion? The same that believes that the Iraq war was not only prudent to conduct, but urgent? That’s far too black and white of a solution for such a complex situation, and one that gives the Secretary of State a higher degree of agency than he actually possess. Mark Steyn? And his foreign policy CV amounts to what, exactly?

I was merely providing attribution to the statement, not appealing to Steyn as an authority.

I agree it’s very odd.
My gut-instinct is that someone in the administration suggested to the Israeli that they reveal as little as possible.
And what better way to reveal as little as possible than just doing an almost verbatim copy of something written earlier?
As for the transcript… Read it. Doesn’t it sound incredibly phony to you? It’s supposed to be a transcript, a literal word by word replay of what they’ve said, not a summary.
Now, I have no idea how the PM of Israel and the Pres. of the U.S. talk to each other. Maybe they really do talk in such a strange and monotone manner.
But it just doesn’t read real to me.
I can totally see Obama saying shit like that to the PM of Israel. But that transcript just reads wrong. It doesn’t sound natural at all and seems like something a really poor writer wrote.
