The hypocracy is amazing
With a grand first post like this, oh what towering pearls of wisdom must await us from this guy huh?
Many I think; However, i’m in a bad mood today. My apologies for coming off a litte rash. My point is that if Chris Matthews or any similar talking head interviewed a president you guys acutally like with the same level of disrespect you would be outraged. One can ask meaningful questions with out interrupting the American President.
Bret had 20 minutes, you wanted him to let Obama babble endlessly about nothing? If he did that, he would have only asked 2 questions and Obama wouldn’t even have had to squirm as much as he did.

Seriously…I’m far from an authority on politics but what did you want Bret to do when he was only given 20 minutes to try and pry some answers from Obama?

If you want to ask this president more than one question, you have to interrupt him because he won’t shut the fuck up.

He just spewed out the same bullshit when he was campaigning. Bret could have busted him up with many issues.

Obama: This bill will be deficit neutral and lower the deficit over the long term.

Bret: Mr. President, you are asking people to pay for something for 10 years, of which they can access it for only 6 years, that is an efficiency of 60%, when I was in school that was considered a D. I might not be a whiz in economics, but that doesn’t sound like a good deal to me. You are giving everyone 60 cents for one of their dollars.

Obama: The Louisiana Purchase happened because of Hurricane Katrina, and felt they deserved more money because of the damage there.

Bret: OK Mr. President, what about the CornHusker Kickback, or Gator Aid? Did something happen in Nebraska and Florida that the rest of us missed?

Obama: Everything about this bill has been out in the open, and we have shown a level of transparency unlike any other presidency.

Bret: Mr. President, you campaigned on showing everything on CSPAN, and you failed to do that. The president of CSPAN himself contacted you, notifying you that he is ready to broadcast when you are. You ran the other way when confronted with that issue.

Obama: I want to bring hope and change to the people, to our government, and steer away from business as usual.

Bret: Mr. President, you have continued many of the Bush policies that are considered unpopular. You extended the Patriot Act. You have added troops in the Middle East, despite your claim to be out of Iraq within 16 months. You spent nearly 2 trillion dollars within your first year of your presidency. You entered into backroom deals that you criticized during your campaign. You put a self-proclaimed Communist in the White House as a member of your staff.

Obama: Bret, do you know who I am? Don’t you know about my awesomeness, and how I can do no wrong? Bret, it’s ok, I know you have the vapors, I give you permission to say that you know me personally.

I don’t think the president deserves any more “respect” in an interview than a congressman or senator. He’s just an elected servant of the people. He is not royalty. We don’t do the royalty thing in the U S of A.

Too much deference to presidents in the recent past, both Repubs and Dems.
The president is accountable to us, not the other way around. Sure, he should be shown the same courtesy as anyone else, maybe a little more, but he isn’t King Obama. Same goes for the previous presidents.

I would have started the interview with the audio played into my microphone of Obama himself guaranteeing that single payer is his goal and it may take 10 years to get us there and watched it go downhill from there.

In fact I would have started each point with an audio clip played into my microphone of Obama himself saying things like how Andy Stern and SEIU would write his agenda and how he’s worked with ACORN his entire adult life and how tragic it was that the civil rights movement got hung up in the courts and failed to bring about satisfactory wealth redistribution or maybe Valerie Jarret owning and praising Van Jones in detail and by name followed by Van Jones own words declaring himself a communist and outright stating that the green agenda is all about ushering in socialism. For starters.

Not that your points are not good though Max.

Maybe Fox is hoping for a 2nd interview…hopefully LONGER than 20 minutes.

I mean, 20 minutes is almost worthless.

My youngest Daughter is 8. She had her first softball game this season yesterday and it’s fast pitch. She was selected to pitch and she didn’t want to AT ALL, but she got up there, faced the fear and had a 3 up 3 down inning striking out 2. Had to brag…

Did you sleep through the 8 years that Bush was President? The main-stream liberal media kicked the crap out of him and left him for dead more times than not.

Did you miss that? Were you too young to be aware of it? Did you forget about it? Do you hate Bush so much that it just never felt like they were destroying him enough to your liking?

No really, which is it, come on share.
