Obama Birth Certificate Controversy

If Obama has nothing to hide he should provide an original copy to an independent third party and get it over with.

Any third party that confirms the authenticity of the Hawaiian birth certificate will be dismissed as partisan or has having conflicts of interests.

The only acceptable “truth” the wingnuts will accept is that the certificate is forged and a fraud. They’re not interested in the actual truth, only in confirming what they already know (or think they know) to be true.

Hawaii state officials have confirmed the authenticity of the birth certificate and that Obama was born there in 1961. It is done and over with.

Maybe the loons should take the pragmatic approach: If both the Clinton campaign and the McCain campaign were both unable to get any traction on this issue (because, quite simply, there never was any issue to begin with), what chance do they have?

A certification of live birth, authentic or not, proves nothing. We need an original birth certificate that shows the hospital where he was born and an attending physician.
[i]
Hawaii Revised Statute 338-17.8 allows registration of birth in Hawaii for a child that was born outside of Hawaii to parents who, for a year preceding the childs birth, claimed Hawaii as their place of residence. The parents would be issued a Certification of Live Birth.

This is not proof of where the child was born. It only proves that the parents claimed Hawaii as their main place of residence for the prior year.

Luckily, here in America, these sort of politics are left to the political fringes. Extremists on this board will continue to argue this point despite overwhelming evidence and common sense…And this is as it should be. Extremists should look extreme. DFTT.

…which, if ever provided, will be believed to be fraudulent, a clever fake, etc. It will lack a raised seal, be of the wrong shade of color, too small by a few millimeter, whatever. It will be claimed that the attending physician was out of the country/attending elsewhere/already dead/unknown to the hospital.

This game is easy. There is not a single document attesting to anything that you could show me that I wouldn’t be able to cast doubt upon.

Anything offered as “proof” simply leads to asking for proof of the proof’s validity and so on. Any “official” document leads to questioning the officials who approved it, then to the document’s chain of custody throughout the years. Who had access to it, who could’ve altered it, who could’ve planted an undetectable counterfeit, etc.

Exactly. Clinton, and to a slightly lesser extent, McCain, were willing to do almost anything to win. And they found nothing here. So how is there anything to see?

Clinton knows, but she was waiting until she was VP before letting that cat out of the bag. She didn’t get picked for that, but SoS is only a couple rungs down the succession ladder. She’ll just have to bag Biden, Pelosi and Byrd and she’s in.

I heard Obama say it himself, that he was from the planet Krypton.

You’re right. That is a much easier path to POTUS than outing Obama during the primaries and cinching the democratic ticket.

Say what you want about her, but that is a pretty good plan.

This is one of the central issues that this case rests upon. The short form certificate that Obama provided to fact check is essentially an affidavit. You can say I have a baby I need a birth certificate and they give you one. It is issued on the honor system.

The Vault copy that the lawsuits want to see is different, it lists the hospital, doctor, parents and time of birth. The vault copy is a higher standard. A higher standard that Obama refuses to be held to.

I absolutely detest the man’s policies, but shit like this, and his incredibly shady connections are why I have no respect for the man. Sad to say, he is probably the most ethicly flawed canidate either side could have produced from the primary canidates. I wouldn’t even be bitching right now if were president hildawg, and I disagree with her on just about everything. But no, the morons elected this trash.

sad fucking day.

Yeah, keeping a critical (but fictional) matter of national importance under your hat in order to get yourself into the highest office in the land in definitely a winning move with the public. They love that kind of stuff.

A number of months ago, on this very forum, I first broke the news that Obama and the Loch Ness Monster are one and the same. This birth certificate fiasco clearly backs my theory (as we all know Loch Ness Monsters do not have birth certificates) and we are still yet to see them in the same room together.

I’m sure you’ll all agree that this is a ‘slam dunk.’

Remember - you heard it here first.

This should be good.

The evidence is obviously all around you, you are, after all, on the internet right now. Only extremists claim this “special” knowledge.

Who is “we”? I have no idea why you haven’t seen it, I can only assume it’s because you’re purposefully choosing not to do so.

So cute. Can we then assume you too are a conspiracy theorist? Uncivil we know you are, but a true conspiracy theorist? Nice.

This is a non-story. Why doesn’t Sarah Palin produce her medical records to quiet rumors that her pregnancy with Trig was faked? Both these ‘stories’ are on about the same footing.

You are wrong. The constitution says you have to be a natural born citizen to be president. The constitution makes no mention of having babies affecting elligibility.

I am well aware of that. And that was not my point. My point was that they both SHOULD have been forthcoming and made these records transparent and neither have a good reason for not doing so. At the same time, there is really no merit to either story. There would be concrete, demonstrable evidence.

If you were well aware of it then why imply that the two situations were analogous? Why not discuss the NFL playoffs instead? That would be just as relevant to this topic.[/quote]

They are analogous. They are both situations where the politicians should be more transparent and put rumors to rest but both situations where there is no credible evidence to support critics claims.

Even Bill Richardson, NM Governor and Obama’s new Secretary of Commerce, believes Obama is an immigrant.
