Nutritional Value In Banana Peels?

i know the peel of an orange has extra fiber. i remember looking up trying to find if a banana peel had anything good in it about a month ago.

ive eatin the peel of an orange and a banana before. but for the most part it tastes kind of gross. and i have no clue of the nutritional content of a banana peel so i just eat the banana now after tasting that gross peel.
I’ve never eaten it, but my brother-in-law is a chef and he shaves an orange peel and includes it in the sauce for some dishes.

Your all pussies. My whole life I’ve eaten just the banana peels, fuck the banana. Same goes for coconut shells, pineapple leaves and shells, and rambutan skins.

Every time someone questions me on my fruit shell eating, I roundhouse kick him to the face and he shits out a fruit basket. Thus, I never have to pay for my fruit.

there may not be any nutritional value in the peel, but there certainly is comedic value.

In the words of Kevin Spacey - the produce was not worth the trip.

HAHAHAHAHAH, funniest thing I’ve read in a long time.

This does raise the question: Must the peel be included in calculations as relates to the ingestion of .9 of a single banana?

With the exception of edible Brazilian dwarf bananas, the peel must be factored in using the following equation:

I(f) = \sum_{i=0}^n f(x_i) \int_a^b L_i(x) , dx

On a side note, “single banana” is an ideological biased term distorted by traditional assumptions. I refuse to engage in any further debate on this ignoble linguistic level in the same manner as I refuse to die or refrain from posting pictures of my bare glutes.

Shit.

I leave all my assets to you.

This also raises the question: should I be eating orange peels too? Or how about watermelon rind?

I don’t know, it seems to me that you are supposed to eat the fruit inside, and the skin is just a packaging for it to ride in. It probably won’t kill you, but did it really taste good? (I have a mental image of finishing off a tub of oatmeal and eating the cardboard)

I’ll stick to eating the meat of the fruit.

Do you guys know how hard it is to not laugh while reading this thread, you guys are hilarious

Shit, why not discuss the nutritional merits of eating beef with the furry hide still attached.

You’re a human-- act like one. If cows had hands to pick apples I’m sure they sure as fuck wouldn’t be eating grass.

Are you kidding me? Bananapeel tastes like crap.

I once told my friend I’ll give him $100 to eat a banana peel. He couldn’t even swallow a tiny piece.

I don’t think there’s harm in the banana peel but I don’t find that appealing at all; pun intended.

However, try grating lemon, lime and orange peels into various dishes (Julia Child would have called it ‘lemon zest’, etc.) Very good. Lemon and lime are really good with chicken dishes and orange, like apricots, with pork.

Definitely do not do this for fruits with rinds. I’m not sure which fruits or how many, but this is not a good idea. In tomatoes, eating the leaves on the top of the tomatoes will cause massive long term problems. Within the leaves are secondary metabolites. These metabolites when ingested will promote types of cancer in the body. In rhubarbs, the part that is not used for the pie (I forget which part), will damn near kill you when ingested.
