Before TRT my libido was dead. Up until then I never had any complaints sexually. Well complaints of my own anyway.
About 8 months into starting TRT - about 80 mg a week IM - my orgasms went numb. Morning wood is fine - sensitivity is fine - erections are strong - libido itself comes and goes. But I no longer feel anything when I orgasm.
The sensitivity builds right to the moment of finishing, the finishing occurs for maybe five to ten seconds, but with no feeling at all accompanying it. Volume isn’t great but there is volume. It has been this way for nearly a year. I am definitely not overdoing it or anything. Talking maybe once or twice a week.
Once in a while I get a small amount of sensitivity and a little rush during the finish and think maybe it’s coming back but nope. This just seems to be the norm now. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Not really looking to add drugs and further complicate my life, just curious if this is a known thing and/or maybe correctable with some adjustments?
This statement tells me a lot about what’s going on, you are more than likely underdosed and your testosterone levels are not high enough. You’re injecting a pretty small dosage for a once weekly protocol and your testosterone levels are probably low for the latter half of the week.
This will create symptoms that come and go over time because your testosterone levels are fluctuating as if on a rollercoaster from high to low levels. I reckoned your doctor hasn’t been much help and probably doesn’t specialize in TRT, probably your garden variety endocrinologist, urologists or GP who just doesn’t have enough experience.
You really need labs if you want protocol advice, but if you spend enough time on this forum you’ll see different protocol across our members, you’ll see guys injecting 150mg once weekly, 50mg twice weekly, 25-35 EOD and you’ll see other guys injecting very small doses daily.
If you were never properly evaluated, you’ll need biomarkers listed below before we can advise you and only then can we recommend a protocol. If your doctor puts up a fight and refuses these tests, you can go to Discount Labs (if in US) and order your own testing.
It would be nice to get blood work to see where your levels are. It seems obvious you need an increased dose. Very few TRT guys take less than 150mg per week.
