Not Boring, New, 100% Yours (Maybe 94%)

Boring is different for different people. I could go camping, do nothing but hang out at a beach, go fishing and not catch a fucking thing and be perfectly happy about it. To a lot of people that would be boring, but to me it’s satisfying. There is less noise and distraction, and there is much more inner exploration.

I like to have fun and excitement, get wild and rowdy, go do crazy stuff. Sure all thats great, but if I had to choose an existance, it would be a pretty calm, low stress, low excitement existance.

But yeah, even my posts have that monotone feel to them, probably 1 in 5 of my posts actually see a reply from someone. I must of killed about two dozen threads as well.

It’s a good thing I have a girlfriend/gym or I would of killed myself a long time ago, haha…

lol, livin the dream, huh?

Judging from your post I don’t think I wanna know exactly what you consider rowdy!

I pretty much agree with and live like this.
When we go to the Caribbean, I just like to sit on the beach with a drink in my hand (or no drink). People are always asking “Hey, wanna try the banana boat, or para-sailing, or diving…”
Nope. I’m fine just chillin’.

Yeah but where you work is probably not all that boring. Meant to ask you, where do you lift in Knox. I lift in Knox too at National Fitness. Just curious…tried to PM you but it wouldn’t go through.
lol yes, thank God my job can double as my social life.

I lift at the UT rec center, kinda sucks, but a summer membership was only $35 so w/e. Where is there a National fitness anyways?
Its over off old broadway by Tazwell Pike. Damn, $35 for the summer ain’t bad at all.

I play airport roulette every 3 months. I head to the airport with my best friend, with a bag packed for a 3 day trip. The bag always includes a heavy jacket and a swimsuit, and then pretty much all the other normal schwag.

Both my friend and I separate and ask 3 random strangers where they would travel in the US today if they could just hop on a plane and fly. We ask the stranger to write down the choice on a piece of paper, to ensure that neither me or my friend simply pick a place.

We then get back together, look at our 6 options submitted by strangers, and pick. We buy a round trip plane ticket right there and go. I will admit that a couple of times we had to re-pick from the submissions due to price or the time until a flight was available, but other than that it is one of the things that I look forward to the most.

*It’s an awesome experience, try it. The only downside is sometimes we get the thorough shake down from security, simply because we buy the tickets the same day as our travel, but that is a pretty minor hitch and is something that I am fine with.
This gets an A+ for cool.

It’s a great way to go on a vacation, because it forces you to make the most of wherever we go and to explore and reach out to the locals for information and recommendations (because we haven’t had any time to plan anything out). Fortunately we’ve never run into much of a problem with hotels and other scheduling, I think mostly due in part to having our computers and access to the internet. I’m also young enough where I don’t have kids or anything to worry about which it makes it much easier.

I’d recommend that everybody partner up with their best friend, girl/boyfriend, or significant other and try it at least once, it’s pretty exhilarating.
I kind of did something like this back in September, only a LITTLE bit more time. My friend was going to London to visit family. I found out about this and he said in passing that he kind of wants to do a little more travel while he was over there.

4 days later I was landing in Frankfort, Germany where I met up with him. Fucking awesome trip. I really like this idea of yours- this is exactly the kind of thing I want to do.

My schedule may be routine, but it’s far from boring. Too much excitement gets me in trouble.

I’m lucky/cursed in that I work at home and I work out at home. Just going to the gas station can make my day. My life is awesome. I’m awesome.

Haha, you know what’s funny is that right after i posted that i thought “well, now I know what to right if I ever use an online dating site.”

Not sure if you were trying to laugh with me or at me, but funny nonetheless

I am sure most see my life as boring but I see it as having commitments. Commitments that I made and am man enough to keep.

Plus I am happy how could that ever be boring!?

Right, like say I am to take a 7 day vacation to a beach type place. Out of the 7 days, I will probably be up for something “fun & Exciting” for one of those days, the other 6 I’m sitting around not doing much other than relaxing and tipping back some cold ones. And I’ll probably regret not sitting around for that 7th day because the “fun & Excitement” will probably be more annoying than anything.

Me?

Sometimes I inject viagra straight into my dick and then proceed to walk around town for a few hours in really tight pants. Just for kicks.

Other than that? I got nothin, bro.

Well I do aim to please LOL.

Got a tire sled coming this weekend. It’s filled with concrete and has a short rope for pulling and a long rope for “rowing”, plus poles for pushing the damn thing. This will keep me amused for some time, small things. Tonight I deadlift and this weekend I get sex.

My life is awesome, wouldn’t trade it.

I mix rave life with hood shit easily. All hidden behind a scholarly and handsome smile.

You would never know where to grab a hold of me if we met in person

I think this sums up my life also. I think this encapsulates what a lot of people said about their lives being ‘boring’ because they liked taking walks in the woods and just chilling.

I don’t think you have to be Wild & Crazy to be Not Boring. A lot of people that are boring are the loudest, dumbest people in the room.

I guess what I’m asking is what do you do that make people stop and ask you questions about it. So, basically, what do you do that makes for interesting conversation? If I told someone I had just been for a walk in the woods, they’d be fascinated.

I recently started adding herbs and spices to booze. I have a big jug of tequila I threw a bunch of dried peppers in. Big jug of gin I added rosemary and bay leaves to. Thinking of adding a bunch of garlic to some vodka.

I recently started riding my bike to work a couple times a week. People are amazed to find they know someone that does this.

I recently got about 20 books on perrenials because my knowledge was limited to day lilies and hosta. Spent a weekend drinking my homemade pepper tequila and learned a ton about perrenials. Emailed out to my neighbors saying I was starting a ‘perennial’ garden club. Met 4 new people and helped them divide up perrenials and trade them.

What else you got?

Well…I just bought a new tie…

I’m a firefighter, work with disturbed and criminal children for a living.

on a non boring note I bought some new board shorts today. On sale.

Haha I do Airport Roulette but its mostly decided by the strangers who set seat prices, since I just find the best deal to anywhere. Living in Miami its really cheap to go to central and northern south america and the caribbean so those spots tend to win over a US destination of the same price. I go solo and do the hostel thing for like 10 days - 6 weeks (when I had time).

Lately it seems to just be Colombia over and over again though. Ive developed an addiction to that place and dont even really get into the super cheap coke.

I dont think Im the most exciting guy, but my idea of a good time doesnt sit well with people who dont know how to have any fun. They also think traveling like I do is expensive, when a hostel for the night costs less than a drink around the corner from my house.
