Normal to Have Below Avg. Total T & Higher Free T?

Just got a blood test done at Deft medical and my Total T was 554 ng\dl and my free T was 20.3 pg\ml (shbg is 25.9 nmol \L). is it normal for free T to be high like this with a lower total number? I don’t think it is a lab error because the free has been high like this for 3 different test. I’m on Clomid as my sole TRt and don’t have much of a sex drive despite my e2 sensitive only being 13.7 pg\ml.

That is your problem. Time for testosterone.

Your Total T and Free T ratios tells me your SHBG is binding androgens weakly, these are similar to my ratios and I have lower SHBG than you do.

Hard to imagine anyone having a libido with estrogen under 20, believe it or not but estrogen is needed for libido and erectile strength.

System lord, do you think there is any advantage for me to go on injectable TRT( I have been on clomid for 6 months and have got the above numbers as a result)? Lastly, Is it bad that my SHBG is binding androgens weakly?

You will likely feel much better on actual TRT, either daily cream (NOT GEL) or injections.

I haven’t seen anyone get their libido back on clomid. It just doesn’t seem to happen for whatever reason. I say drop it and go for the real stuff

Not necessarily, it just changes the game plan a little, very frequent injections is the correct way to deal with it. I bind androgen weakly, more so than you and do very well on daily dosing. If you chose to inject less frequently, it could take away benefits of TRT, add symptoms and decrease well being on TRT.

T-gels are generally frowned upon, men absorb poorly and few men do well on T-gels. It’s not so bad to inject daily with 29 gauge insulin syringes, once you get used to it, it’s not so bad.
