Noticed I was starting to run out of prepped meat as I was slow-cooking the bones from the oxtail so I tossed in two chunks of meat on top of the bones.

Veggie noodle stir fried in coconut oil with walnuts and coconut flake topping with a side of sauerkraut, kefir, kimchi sauce topped with chives and bones to gnaw on for breakfast.

Throw on knee wraps and you’ll squat upright ez

When I’m squatting 160kg I’m buying wraps. That’s my gift to myself for the accomplishment

Really? I’m thinking of buying myself pizza

Seems kinda arbitrary. Just go in tomoz and good morning the fuck out that shit and buy some wraps

Probably the dumb “external rotation” warm up with DBs that is essentially just a turning isometric curl

Fuck no. Nothing like a good morning with enough weight to kill an elephant

Says the guy that squats beautifully :eyes:

You forgot to tag me!!!

Oh, it is super arbitrary. Much like what weights I decide deserve a belt.

Haha, yeah this meal would’ve been right up your alley

Is there a point if you’re not a powerlifter? Sure you’re lifting more, but I’m not sure your quads will grow more, and it puts more stress on the knees, and you have to put them on perfectly. I don’t know, many BBers would discourage him to do so

@dagill2 @Voxel I don’t think it’s wring to try to be a Jack of all trades. That’s what I am aiming for, like most Crossfit guys!

Also, your food looks ridiculously delicious. How much time for prepping this?

The goals are right there in the log title. Dunno if they are meant to be in sleeves for some reason.

He’ll squat well in wraps technique wise but doesn’t mean can’t be building up with other things at the same time.

Bodybuilders use wraps for all kinds of reasons or none at all. To lift more weight, protect knees and all kinds of bullshit.

Indeed I have overlooked that ahah

Well it’s worth a think about because for hip dominant squatters squatting in knee wraps will be quite different to squatting without. They get more horsepower in their legs for once to match their phat butts

Active time or total time?

The meat I just add to my slow cooker. Cut open the vacuum pack and dump it straight in. I have an ongoing infinity broth that I reuse. I simply pour it through a sieve and remove fat as it cools and collects as a solid sheet at the top (it’s crazy how much fat doesn’t end up being consumed).

Occasionally, if I know I’ll be eating it “fresh” I’ll have the foresight to add onions/carrots/pumpkin/sweet potato to the slow-cooker as well. What I add depends on when the meal will be had or what I’m in the mood for. I run it on low for at least 8 hours. Usually overnight or start it in the morning in preparation for dinner.

Since the cooking time is so long, onions merely need to be peeled which is easiest when halved. Carrots just need a rinse. Pumpkins, depending on the type, don’t need to be peeled. Sweet potatoes require rinsing. So, it takes about as long to prep as it takes you to move the ingredients from storage to pot.

The wok greens here are the cheapest frozen wok mix. Took them out the night before and let it thaw in the fridge. The noodles are Shirataki noodles so they just need a quick rinse in a sieve and 1-3 minutes of heat exposure. I toss them in with the noodles and either add some broth directly from the slow cooker to save the pan or add some oil as I did today. Olive oil is quickest, as its just a matter of drizzling it a bit. Or if you have olive oil spray that’s even quicker. How long does it take to add coconut oil? Well, a teaspoon is about 10g. If you want to be anal and weigh it out it’ll take slightly longer.

Nuts can be really quick to add to a meal. Having a plastic shot glas with a rubber band or drawn line for 25-30g for nuts work fairly well although if you use pine nuts that’ll need a separate measuring “cup”. Another idea is just to measure out portions and wrap them in some plastic wrap and add a clip. These two approaches are applicable to frozen avocado too.

Coconut flakes, when used as a topping don’t take too long to add either… My advice is to move it out of the plastic bag that it is sold in into an old jam jar (any glass container with a lid really) and leave a teaspoon or tablespoon measure in it for whatever serving size you tend to prefer.

While the pandemic does create greater cooking leeway with regards to making it to the office on time I did this stuff when I had a set hour to show up and it was never a problem after a short acclimatisation phase where you’re still figuring out how to be efficient.

Matcha tea, green tea, yerba mate, and coffee can all be cold-brewed is time is of a true premium.

TL;DR: takes about as long to make as an omelette if even that. Takes a little longer to eat though.
