Yeah he stated anyway that one can easily fit this template to his own needs. I think your version is good. I just honestly don’t want to do anymore super slow eccentric and pauses for 12 weeks, 4 will be enough ahahah
I imagine he periodises the pauses. I focused more on technical mastery, if I hadn’t I would’ve definitely given more thought to alternating between focuses. At some point you’d want to realise the technical improvements by focusing on heavier lifting and de-emphasising the tempo work. Conceivably also not always run a 3x frequency. I could see a taper, going from 3x/wk, to 2x to culminating with a week with 1x frequency that ends in doubles or singles of the main lifts for say 6 sets.
Tom Martin also has a background in weightlifting. That might have influenced his pulling style.
Yeah he periodizes in horrible stuff like 3 two second pauses for a month, then 1 eight sec pause, then 2 five secs pauses etc plz kill meeeeee
yeah exactly why I want to finish this program and see what I can do with the “real lifts”
that would look insane for anyone to do, and nice training so far!!
No…just no…
I was listening to a weightlifting podcast and one of the coaches recommended this for hyper mobile athletes to increase stability. Given that there’s probably an element of self selection of hyper mobile strength athletes into weightlifting, this type of programming makes a lot of sense
Well that’s great then because my shoulders are too mobile
Not entirely sure what you’re referring to. Please clarify. Appreciate you stopping by!
I’ve done it all but the two 5 secs pause. It is not pleasing, especially on front squat.
These were good stuff to know during the pandemic for I could only have 75kgs on my barbell so I was doing front squats with these kinds of shit
@Voxel I’ve seen his friend Stéphane Cazeault from Kilo society do stato-dynamic work differently: one 3 secs pause at mid-range of the concentric portion, with around 60%, and focus on maximum weight.
Also CT included heavy bands exercises (HBT) or unstable, bamboo bar, earthquake lifts etc as part of the isometric or stato-dynamic day.
It doesn’t really have the same effect but honetly I liked it a lot! I want to do some again one day
How do these two things belong in the statement? That sounds jerk-y but that’s not how I mean it. I just don’t understand.
That’s a typo, I meant maximum speed

Committed Week 1, Day 6 committed2020
Weight: 75.7 kg
Climbing
Was lost in the woods for three hours, our climbing app (27crags) and Google Maps had the location marked wrong with about 3 km.
Three lead pitches,
5a onsight (Bart Simpson at Huvudväggen, Starrberget)
6a redpoint (Bruce Lee at Huvudväggen, Starrberget),
6b redpoint (Dark Helmet at Huvudväggen, Starrberget)
Brought pancakes, cottage cheese, chocolate powder/whey/casein, banana as lunch. Yum. And had a piece of dark chocolate in my coffee thermos. Also yum. And a protein flapjack from Bulk Powders while we were lost in the woods. Also yum.
Sounds like a fun day with friends! Well despite the cliffs cause they look scary.
Fortunately it was just me and a good mate and we could both celebrate being lost by finding blueberries and lingonberries rather than get stressed with… Being lost.
Must be terrifying and exciting to get lost in the forests of Scandinavia
Don’t know if it’s much worse than getting lost elsewhere? At least it’s not the jungle and there are black mambas darting down for your head from above. Granted, there are a few forests where you could walk for days, weeks and maybe even months before coming across a road and that would indeed be terrifying but at my latitudes bears and moose are the biggest fears. Until, of course, nightfall where you’d be very very cold and risk hypothermia. Last wolf attack outside captivity was over two hundred years ago.
I don’t know, you say there’s not much too worry about but you’re talking about months without a road, wolves, bears, hypotermia and I know you’re avoiding the subject of draugrs!
Surely this can happen in tons of European countries?
Draugrs are friends.
I’ve been sleeping like ass lately. It reminds me of dietsomnia and ordinarily I’d chug a shake in the middle of the night but this practice has apparently had a negative impact on my dental health.
Further, it seems as if my weight is on the rise
So that seems unlikely and while I remain lean its a bit hard to estimate just how lean. Maybe 14%. Loose skin continues to make it hard to gauge.
Performance isn’t down but I really want to have a good night’s sleep. Melatonin. Glycine. Magnesium. Tea that’s supposed to aid. None of it helps. I wake up in the middle of the night with my brain in full stress fire mode, and hunger.
Yes, I do have some stress-related issues that I’m treating but this is an unexpected regression that has no obvious explanation. And while that’s fine, sometimes sleep is just poor, I don’t like it and wanted to ventilate.
Have you tried eating carbs before bed (probably…)
Isn’t it harder to sleep in your latitudes with the weird sun cycle?
You’re looking really lean! Maybe 1-3 kgs more if you’re trying to woo people at the beach ahah but you’re really in a good spot! (I want to see the backkkkk)
