I think that quote describes Nog better than Mir. I haven’t heard many credible people actually say Mir shouldn’t, wouldn’t, didn’t, or couldn’t win. Nog didn’t even let it be known before the fight, so I don’t think it was an excuse. Besides, there is bs talk about almost all fighters wins. Nog just beat Randy because he’s old, beat Sylvia buy luck submission, etc. and if I believed some of the stuff I read, Lesnar sucks and hasn’t actually won a fight.
I would like to see Nog-Mir II, Nog-Lesnar, Mir-Kongo, all good fights.
I’ve listened to Mir’s comments and he’s not being a complete dick. He was asked a question and he answered it honestly.
He’s saying fighters are always hurt and that we fighters rarely make excuses for our performances. (I say we as if I’m Mir, I’m not a fighter, I shoot people and run)
I think the man is being honest and it doesn’t sound nice.

What about him backing out of the original date for his beatdown by Lesnar? Maybe he shouldn’t have made excuses and fought? This is my biggest beaf with what he has said. If he is unwilling to fight with injuries, why on god’s green earth would he criticize Nog?
What about him maginalizing Nog’s win over Couture?

The only hope I have reserved for Mir is that he really doesn’t mean the things he says and he is just trying to make this a big a pay day. If this is the case, all the more power to him.
Hey dhickey I’m Mirjitsu all the way and I’m with you on this one. But at the same time I think he may have just chose his words poorly in order to hype things up for future fights.

I don’t think there is any doubt that they stand and trade. I say do it. Duffe is looking for another fight soon. Put him in against Kongo.[/quote]
The stupidest thing Mir said was about Nog’s sweep when he said it was merely “taking advantage of an opportunity”. WHAT THE FUCK DUDE. The same could be said about the leg lock he got on Lesnar. That’s the nature of the fight game, you take advantage. It would be ridiculous to attack a strength in your opponent.
