57 years ago today I was a kid in Germany. It was evening and the phone rang. Papa had to go to an emergency meeting on the post. Returned several hours later. Called us all together and told us President Kennedy had been assinated. I remember my mother crying and my father getting his gear ready to moblize in case the Soviets had something to do with it. I remember that day… I would have been 11, and was in school. The teacher came in, broke the news. Then we got sent home early. It was an overcast day in Michigan, kind of gray and dreary. When I got home, I could see my mother had been crying.

The day of the funeral, I went out for a bike ride: blue sky, bright sun, crisp fall day. What I remember most vividly was that the streets were deserted. No one was out, everyone was watching on TV.

A couple of years later, it was Robert Kennedy. I was older, and it just made me really mad…

Thanksgiving day summed up. Committed 4 of the 7 deadly sins. Ok, maybe 5. Great time. Yesterday went and played racquetball with number 5 brother because I’m a masochist. He’s a fanatic handball player who also plays squash and racquetball because he can’t find enough handballers. I use to play a lot of racquetball back in the day. “Back in the day” being the key phrase. I mighta I made a point in there somewhere and he managed to pop me in the ass with the ball numerous times. Ah,big brothers, gotta love them. Try to get back on track today.

Swim 40 minute. Had to complete try off an change before running 1.5m. Temp dropped over night.

Real early morning Kata and Poomse followed by 2 mile run.
Wife cooked me up a 4 egg ham, cheese and onion omelet which I smothered with sis in law’s home made habanero salsa, bacon and sausage and lots of coffee. Lunch was 2 foot long hot dogs with chili, onions, and jalapenos. Passed on dinner. Thinking of copy writing this diet.
Cleaned the workshop. OK, moved stuff from one side of the shop to the other.
Watching youtube tonight and I thought I’d pretty much taken care of my bucket list. Had to add one. I want to party once with Eddie Hall.

Natatorium closed for cleaning so missed my swim. So went for a leisurely run through the woods. Ended up running for around an hour so not sure how far it was. Felt good. Wife, several sis in laws and friends are at #3 brother’s house playing mahjong so on my own tonight. Grilled up a nice rib-eye, some brussel sprouts and onions and daikon radish, green onion, and tomato in vinegar. Sipping some Jameson’s and smokin a Arturo Fuente Hemingway. Gym tomorrow.

Suffering from PTSD-Post Tramatic Shopping Disorder after today. Wife dragged me to the local mall which I’ve managed to avoided for years. She insisted I “help” her choose some gifts. How do so many clothes stores stay in business? Her record for number of steps before stopping to check out a rack of clothes was 9 steps. I counted.
