Cousin Mike occassionally, at least once a decade without fail, adds a new piece of totally un-needed equipment. This piece showed up sometime in the last couple of days. "Got it from a friendā is the explanation. So i decide to give it a try. Where your feet go pivots as you push. Warm ups with light weights were no problem. Added some weight and every rep made my kness feel like they were going to hyperextend. One of the few body parts never injured is my knees. Went back to the normal leg press machine.
Pivots when you push? Thatāsā¦insane. The ground doesnāt pivot when you push. If it does, we call that stumbling.
Prime landfill material
Had a workout today, sort of. Brothers 5 & 6 show up. Say lets go on Grandmere Gwenola and get us some lunch. Now Iāve been getting āsome lunchā at Grandmere Gwenolaās since I first came to the US. Sheās gotta be upper 90s and runs one of the best corner stores still around. Slices the meat and cheese for sandwiches when you order them and piles it on. Course once you order a sandwich youāre pretty much getting it the way she feels like making it. Got me a Ruben plus 2 large Dill pickles from the counter jar, to go. No throwin bones in the back of the store or sippin jar liqour today. Brothers tell me weāre eating somewhere else. Somewhere else is Bad Axe. Bring you own fodd, beverage, and throw some axe(s)? First time ever tried this. Guess itās āthe next big thingā. Finally got a couple to stick. Not much required except some axe and targets. Decided weālbuild one out # 2s place. Tell him after we do! Hope this is coherent cause we went back and got a few pint of jar ligour afterwards.
Sounds like a good day out and good to see you throwing axes instead of bombs
Right before covid hit I went to an axe throwing place with my coworkers. It was pretty fun but it kept pissing me off how you have to sort of finesse it. For some reason, throwing an axe is something I want to do really hard (like the hammer and bell game at the fair), but it never sticks when I throw it hard.
Thatās pretty slick. Our local bowling ally has added some ax throwing lanes. I have yet to try it out but it looks like fun. I have seen some videos of people throw them and have to quickly duck while the ax ricochets and returns to sender. Good for the reflexes.
I found youāve got to have the axe blade hit at a high angle, the handle being at 22 degrees or a little ore to the target so the smallest amount of blade hits the target. To much blade and it wonāt penetrate deep enough. .
Had a few of those myself and we stood farther back than the lines you can see in the picture.

Beautiful, cool day - hit the dojo real early. Forms and bag work. After lunch did a 5k run, measured by my trucks odometer, around the neighborhhod.
Not seeing much throwing Harry? No comps?
The one scheduled for the 13th of this month was canx because of the resurgence of COVID in Tennessee. Nothing else til maybe next Spring by which time I hope to be back in the Philippines.

Had to search the gym to find a couple of 2.5 #ers but got myself a OAPR in the bench. (Old Age PR). Must of been the motivating cries of āVous avez ce vieil hommeā (you got this old man!) from the youngsters.
I still havenāt been called āold manā, but I know they are thinking it.
Nice pressingā¦
Any chance you will come via Australia ??
Congrats on the PR!!!
Not too much. Usually go from here to Denver to Tokyo to Manila. Try and get a long stop over in Tokyo.Great little sushi house about 5k from the airport. Known the owner for years. Looks like I may have to go from here to Houston, Hawaii, Gaum, and then Manila this time.
Crappy weather and busy day so didnāt get any work out in today. Cool, wet day so was forced to eat chile dogs to survive. Did get some pix from a great nephew in the PI washing up my personal tricycle. Usually drive a Toyota Fortuner on the open highway but for driving downtown a trikes a lot better. And subtle aināt a thing in the PI. Should see it at night with all the running lights on.
