Doesn’t B12 have a big effect usually?
Thanks guys.
I probably should have been more specific. I typed most of my responses on the fly while being busy.
Like I said, the reason I’m taking it is to “wake up” when I’m just half dead and on my heavy squat day. That comes out to 4 times a month I’d be using an NO product a month.
I took a look at the Guanidino Propionic Acid and came across this:
Guanidino Propionic Acid (GPA) has shown to mimic the action of Insulin without the need for high glycemic carbohydrates. This insulin mimicking action efficiently transports nutrients throughout the body, supports glucose reuptake into the muscle and efficiently shuttles creatine into the muscle cell.
Hmmm…

No problems there, hell you said yourself that it was better than an equivalent amount of caffeine…wait whoops my bad no you didn’t you said it felt different than being overly caffeinated.
Ah, interesting. I had not seen that - makes some more sense as to why its included in these products, though most companies tout it as having the ability to increase your body’s production of creatine, or something along those lines, which again who cares since you can supplement with large amounts of creatine anyways…
I can’t find the article detailing what happens with this stuff, though there was a blurb in a David Barr interview that mentions it will block creatine transporters, preventing uptake of creatine.
A related compound is glycocyamine, which breaks down into creatine + homocysteine in the body, and homocysteine levels are correlated with increase heart disease. However if its a marker of disease, or a red flag, as opposed to a cause, then something that elevates levels in this manner doesn’t neccessarily mean heart disease risk.
Anyways there are nootropic enhancers in the product which when combined with the caffeine and the tryosine/phenylalanine could make for a good energy boost, no placebo required.
why don’t you just buy caffeine pills? 200mg tabs 100 capsules… 5 bucks vs 20 days of NO x-plode/sp 250 or whatever for 50-60? if your just lookin to wake up you’ll be moon walkin into the gym with those pills
