No Chest Exercise in Viator's Workout to Remember

Thanks So Much!!

Awesome, thanks

What is T/A to the Neck
What is C.P. Curls

Dr. D: Its says Note the circles and squares, but does not say what they mean or indicate. Do you have any recollection?
Best,
Scott

Somewhere else I saw the circles are negative only and squares were negative accentuated sets.

T/A is likely to be Torso Arm (the Nautilus name for their pulldown machine).
C/P I don’t know, but might be compound position at a guess (and that is just a wild guess)

Torso arm makes perfect sense, thanks

Found the answer…compound position curl…its where you are seated in a curl machine and the handles are above the shoulders

There is someone selling what they say are Colorado experiment papers photos on eBay ? Don’t know if it’s legit or not?
Scott

I’ve always wanted to try one of those and see if having the arms up next to your head actually worked the bicep any better and same with the compound tricep where your arms extended down and back some.

Scott

Hammer strength has similar bicep exercise and it’s a great machine
I use the hammer strength triceps extension that is also with arms above the shoulders…goid machine imho

I worked out at a gym about 10 years ago that had the modern Nautilus Nitro version. I wasn’t that impressed by it versus the Nitro preacher curl machine. Not sure if it’s the design of having the arms above your head or the fact it was from the Nitro line since most of the newer Nautilus machines are not good.

I remember seeing several of those nitro curls with the arms up fairly cheap but they seemed to have a huge footprint for just a curl machine. If I recall the first gen compound bicep, with arms up had a very aggressive cam so at the contracted point it got pretty hard and lots of friction . One would think they would have resolved that with the Nitro series?

Scott

I just found it to be an awkward position to do curls not so much the friction. If you think about the function of the biceps I don’t see how it would be any more effective or different than a standard machine that’s like a preacher curl.

If I recall the theory was that you would get a stronger contraction of the bicep with the elbow up near the ear. Same with the tricep where the arm is down and back gives the triceps a stronger contraction. Frankly I don’t know if in fact it does but I have friends who own the Nautilus two seater compound curl and they say it really gives the bicep a cramping burn feeling unlike the preacher bench curl.

Keeping in mind the contracted position of the compound bicep try this after your curls or even pulldowns.

Without rest put your arms overhead elbows back near your ears. Forearms will be be parallel ro the floor. Your hands will have a neutral grip at first. Quickly supinate your hands and squeeze your biceps.

In other words mimic the contracted position of the compound Bicep machine.

I suppose that’s possible. But Jones was also a capitalist so it could have been a reason to market and sell a second biceps machine.

do pullovers work chest?

Perhaps a little. But I’ve never felt much chest involvement from any Nautilus pullover machine.

The only time I ever felt the chest in a pullover workout was when I used dumbbell pullovers across the bench
