Sooooo, no more dodge ball in PE?
FUCK!!!
Between 6 & 9 dodgeball was the best fucking game on earth when it was to cold or rainy to go outside. Run, duck, dodge, leap, stab, shank, elbow, catch, throw. Everything a healthy child needed to burn off some energy and go back to class ready to learn.
Damn that shit was fun.
Fuck. Yes. And they wonde why so many kids have “A.D.D.” these days?? I’ll give you a hint…it’s NOT ADD YOU BUREAUCRATIC DOUCHEBAGS! Kids are naturally little balls of energy. allow them to run around and they can focus…but take away everything that they can do physically to burn off energy because it’s “dangerous” and they’ll attempt to burn all that energy off in the classroom…not learning.
This type of thing really grinds my gears.
On the plus side, i was in gym today at a colegiate s/c center, and the coaches two kids–4 and 6 yrs old–were running around hoping thru the agility ladders, pulling each other on weight sleds in the hall, and throwing little dumbbells around…because it was FUN and nobody told them they couldnt do it. Those kids are going to be badasses when they grow up.
haha. when i was a kid everyone played either bullrush or wwf.
wwf got banned… then bullrush… something about broken arms.
it is making a comeback now though, yeah. finding that it does reduce behavior problems in the classroom. bringing in coaching / proper supervision seems to work well, too, in terms of healthy role models etc.

Yeah central canadians are pussies. Here in the Maritimes we play murderball. It’s wallball with tackling.
And what the hell is up with the school cancelations in ontario? They cancel a week of school for fishing weather! They close roads for hiking weather!
But yeah I’ve talked to a few people from Quebec and way out west and we all think ontarioers are a bunch of wimps.

Somebody once cracked me on the head with a big ice chunk. I got taken to the principal’s office because I attacked everyone that was nearby when it happened. The damned pansy wouldn’t step forward and fight me.
one person starts in the middle (can’t remember how that person was selected). you have a field (like a field hockey or soccer or rugby field) that you play on. when we were small we used to play across the width rather than down the length. everyone (aside from the person in the middle) starts at one end or length.
the person in the middle gets to pick someone. whoever they pick needs to try and run to the other side - without getting tackled to the ground. sometimes we would play a ‘touch’ variant where you need to plant both hands on their back instead of tackling them to the ground.
if the person makes it to the other side then ‘bullrush’ is called where everyone runs to the other side - and the person in the middle tries to tackle / touch someone.
once you have been tackled / touched then you join the person in the middle and you get to choose the next person and you are part of the team trying to tackle / touch the others. of course as many people as there are in the middle are allowed to tackle / touch so if you don’t get caught for a while eventually around 14 people will flatten you. good times
