Nikki Haley...for President?

It won’t be hard for someone to come out and COMPLETELY embrace all of Trump’s policies and at the same time explain that they aren’t the type of person who will be tweeting all the time or being mean or leading rebellions. Trumpers could get behind that.

Damn if Graham didn’t decide to go all-in/balls-deep.

I sure hope Trump gave him a reach-around.

No that would be easy. Although I would argue positions were largely erratic and changed like the wind but that’s a different debate. It certainly wasn’t a campaign run on concrete ideas and principles nor governed as such.

Indeed they could. However much more important than the persons policies or positions is that they are pledging loyalty to the man at all times. You damn sure better not say you won’t be tweeting and watching cable news all the time. Because that will be perceived as a slight to Trump and any slight to him will be politically disastrous. As Hayley has learned.

Not even Trump can tell you what his policies are. Building a wall is not a policy. Trump is about a perception of attitude.

All lives matter except those in blue states doesn’t count as policy?

Kamala’s people nuked Klobuchar pretty good.

Pompeo said he is up for a fight if Trump doesn’t run.

Not real stoked on how he conducted himself and the office of SOS, but I’m willing to be convinced it was all because of trump (serve at the pleasure, presidents agenda, etc) and he regrets and has learned from a lot of it. That said, I don’t know any of his policy positions so I’m open to hearing what he has to say… Hopefully he doesn’t lean into the MAGA worship as a good minion of dear leader (not optimistic on that front though).

I would have thought that a while back, but I’m not sure any more. Actually I’m quite pessimistic on that count. I viewed Trump’s policies largely the way H Factor did in terms of being somewhat slap-dash and based on perception due to the person in charge, but at the same time I don’t hate them (mostly anyway). I think there were very few seriously bad ideas when one considers actual policy–although I can name several I don’t like.

But his behavior and character were the things I couldn’t stand. No need to rehash all that, I’m on record anyway. But to the point I don’t think enough people within the party will distinguish policy vs person here. They used to which was a key reason I used to vote GOP. But they lost me and I’m not sure they see it. And frankly I don’t think this tactic will work–one of Trump’s bets when running was that the party would bend to him rather than vice versa, and I saw that happen.

And increasingly… unprofessional, whatever you want to call it… behavior of that kind has increasingly infected other members of the party. That’s one reason I don’t think your idea here works in real life any more (even though I do think it is easy to do in principle)
