Can anyone confrim to me what I’ve been told that NGV’s or night vision goggles that are used in combat mainly in Iraq and Afghanistan the image is distorted when any type of light source is present and can sometimes blind a person using them which makes us more vulnerable then we already are over “there”.

Depending on the technology the goggles is using, damage can range from temporary blindness to long-term vision trouble. I’ve heard of digital NVGs being on their way, but have no idea if they’re used over “there”. My guess is that they’d be too expensive.
I don’t think ambient light is something to worry about, but laser pointers would certainly be fatal. Imagine the damage you could do with these:

no you missed my whole point. Is the goggles being used in the military when soldiers are conducting door to door raids when any source of light comes up when our troops are using the goggles are the goggles still sensitive meaning they don’t work.
Maybe homeschooling wasn’t the best idea for your education.

US forces no longer use Night Vision devices. Thanks to genetic splicing our soldiers are now engineered with natural cat-like night vision. Ambushing our soldiers with bright lights no longer presents the danger it used to. However, the enemy has started to exploit another inisidious tactic. The ball of yarn. I have no idea why I wrote this.

No, you will not go blind. Depending on which generation of newer NVG’s are used, the light will either turn off (in which case you just flip them back on) or they will dim to make up for the extra light.
