You really did try to rick roll me! I thought you were purposely showing that as a joke, but damn you were actually sending me straight into the lion’s den! Lol… ; )
In the meantime…ah, you know the rest.

Lol - too funny. That guy is the Rush hater who claims he’s been playing guitar for seven years and is “better than Alex Lifeson.”
Awesome. : )

Who gives a shit if some of their songs sound alike?
I listen to music for a variety of reasons - one of them being that sometimes I simply like to tap my foot to a catchy song.
While it might make me feel like a badass musical connoisseur (notice: to everyone else, it just makes me a douche) to bitch, moan and pick apart silly reasons like that as to why they blow, it doesn’t change the fact that sometimes, while I will always appreciate the talent of bands like GnR, Zeppelin, DMB, Pearl Jam, etc, I just want to tap my foot. So shut the fuck up or I’ll blast my Linkin Park a little bit louder.
I’m not kidding myself into believing that anyone will remember them after they stop pumping out music or that they are anything more than easily-digestible “pop”, but reserving my ears solely for shit that fits squarely on a musical palate that can best be described as pretentious and sneering at everything else would make me a bummer to have at parties, NOT a discerning authority on good tunes.
Maybe their music just ain’t for you. That’s fine, I’m not saying that there aren’t crap bands out there and that you should love everything you listen to. I will also be one of the first to say that the Nickelback I hear on the radio nowadays is pretty lame, but the people who smugly gripe about some of their songs sounding alike (gee, I guess that gives me TWO catchy songs to listen to instead of one!) or shaking their heads and throwing a, “Well, they ain’t no AC/DC!” out there should lighten up and go do some deadlifts.
Note: again, this isn’t an endorsement for loving ALL music (if you haven’t caught on to my target audience yet, don’t bother replying) so don’t even mention Justin Beiber. That androgynous, slick-haired little rugrat should suck-start a shotgun before even CONSIDERING whining into a mic anytime soon.

Geez, you are such a music snob!
