NHL Playoffs

Anaheim heard my pleas and decided to win game 3. Anaheim up 3-0 right now.

Philly over Washington 4-2 in the 3rd, on the powerplay. 4 goals in 2minutes 33s in that game earlier in the first period. Hartnell has been fucking with Huet all day, looks like he’s gotten him pretty shaken up at this point.

fuck.

that is all.

And Price OWNS

Washington closes gap, 4-3. Philly has a Penalty shot drawn on a breakaway by Richards.

Richards scores, 5-3 Philly.

Knuble empty net goal, 6-3 Philly

are you fucking serious? I mean really? The habs win a game in OT on one of the worst penalty calls all season, then lose, and then win a hard fought, physical game 1-0 on a goal off a bad rebound and you say the bruins “ain’t got shit” on the habs. Man, you need to watch a bit more hockey, B’s have been in every game but the first and pretty much dominated the puck in game 4. I will give you that Price had an absolutely phenomenal game, but so did Thomas. It ain’t fucking over yet.

oh yeah… you’re a douche!

yeah, I’m bitter.

Yep, you sure are a habs fan. All logic goes out the window and an obvious lack of hockey knowledge shines through, haha. Price has been shakey at BEST pal, he doesn’t own anything.

2 on none rush says what, exactly?

Price has been solid, if you want to see shaky look over at Huet.

Boston falls to Mtl in 6 I’m thinking, this has been a much closer series than I expected going in, but I still can’t see Boston taking it.

Colorado dominated the Wild, 5 - 1.

Price never touched that puck, krejci just got a bad tip. But I will give price credit, he’s played pretty damn well in my opinion.

agreed

oh ye of little faith. Most people didn’t expect Boston to win a game, let alone lose one in OT and one as hard fought as last night. Bruins ain’t out of it yet.

On a side note, is it just me, or did last night’s Bruins Habs game illustrate exactly how misguided the NHL is/was in trying to adjust the rules to create higher scoring games? 1 goal between the two teams, yet one of the hardest hitting and most fun to watch games I’ve seen in a long time. Just curious if anyone else feels the same way.

SHARKS!!!

You see good fellows, my FLYERS are not to be fucked with. I’m telling you, you ass-hats better watch yourselves because we are rolling through like a freight train baby.

FUCK YOU OVECHKIN!!

Agree, they should reduce goalie equipment size (the leg pads and catcher’s mid are ridiculously huge) or get a bigger net imo if they want higher scoring games.

Avalanche looking good!!!

Series tied, game 5 prediction:

Avalanche win

Finally a game that didn’t go into OT!

Are you watching the same hockey as I am? 24 wins as a rookie is not shaky by any stretch of the imagination.

Now, about the games. The first game was all Montreal. The second game was hard fought and could’ve gone either way but Montreal ended up winning. The third game was the same, except Boston won. Yesterday was another hard game, and Montreal won.

We all know that playoff hockey is different than regular season hockey and that anything can happen any given night. However, Montreal is clearly a better team than Boston, plain and simple.

Tomorrow at 7, Montreal moves on to the second round.

not exactly what I was saying. Although I do think reducing goalie pad size would be better than changing rules, what I meant when I said “misguided” was that there’s no need to increase the number of goals scored. As was shown last night, the game of hockey can be absolutely fantastic with only a single goal in a game. I’m against increasing the net size though, it would change too much.

Just a few inches, say 6 on each side, would completely change angles for goalies and shooters, lanes, etc… do you move the faceoff dots and circless? If they want to change dimensions like that they should go back to having non-standard rink sizes (ala the old boston garden’s giant sheet of ice) but leave the goals and lines alone.

I honestly have to say that I thought Boston looked the better team for the past two games (despite last night’s outcome). They controlled the puck better, played more physically, defended well, pretty much everything except score well.

again, I totally disagree, I think Boston has really stepped it up a couple notches since the end of the regular season and competed fiercely with a team that dominated them for 11 games straight (going back to last season). Montreal on the other hand has simply played mediocre hockey with some great goaltending. They haven’t shown anywhere near the fire and heart the bruins have.

I wouldn’t be so sure of that yet. But I will say this, whatever happens, Milan Lucic is going to knock Komisarek the fuck out before this thing’s done.

Apparently not, because I see a kid who’s playing like a kid - yes, he’s played well at points - but he’s also given up lots of dangerous rebounds, he’s let shots flubber through that were akin to a dump-in, and he’s yet to be seriously tested.

People who claim his reaction on a two on none, when he was beat but the Bruin missed the net, kill me.

Or his play on Sturm, when he jumped out to try and get the puck and was beat cleanly - again a sign of inexperience.

Don’t get me wrong, he’s got a world of upside and I’m sure will be an upper tier goalie. But to say “PRICE OWNZ OMFG LOLOLOL” is just inaccurate.

Yes, based on your interpretation of the three games, save for the first one being able to go either way, the habs are CLEARLY better. Lol. Kinda contradictory there pal.

I agree, he has played questionably at times. I did not like him jumping that far out of the crease to try to attack the puck; he’s not Patrick Roy. However, he’s still a good goalie. Not great, but good. He wins games, but everyone gets a little lucky now and then.
