Uh oh, Packers starting LT is out for the year with a torn ACL. How many times will Rodgers be sacked this year?
At least 5 times in Week One.
I don’t doubt it. The Niners will probably tear up whoever the Packers put at LT.

Who going to have a better NFL year; Gronkowski or Witten?
Assuming health, Witten easily finishes w/more recs while Gronk easily finishes w/more scoring grabs.
No Hernandez or Welker?

Witten
Well, I want to believe that Witten will do far better due to the fact that Gronk is now unreliable from constant health problems.
Keep in mind reports are Gronk has lost a fair amount of LBM due to not being able to workout, and he apparently was a machine.

Witten, no doubt. Gronk will be middle of the road at best this year, for no other reason and physical problems and being tripled every play.

Really? A pair of traffic tickets. So who is the forefront for lead RB now?

This was my point.

aaand Danario Alexander tears ACL.

Bump Vincent Brown… if he doesn’t tear his ACL.

Damn its just amazing how many injuries there have been without a game played.

Two guys tore their ACLs today. Alexander and some dude from the Eagles, I forget his name but another WR. They have two WR out with torn ACLs.

Alexander would have been the only decent choice for a fantasy WR from the Chargers.

I was just going to say the Chargers haven’t had anyone injured yet yesterday, haha, whoops.

This happens every year though. Guys always get hurt in training camp and pre season games.

Damn. DA was a great waiver wire addition last year. I can’t even begin to look at draft boards yet b/c it’s going to be all practice squads by the time the season rolls out

Ha, yup. That is why people shouldn’t draft in their leagues until right before the season starts.

I didn’t realize how many preseason games occur on a Thursday. Time to watch the Skins with RedZone as my flipper.

Baltimore at Tampa Bay 7:30 pm Raymond James Stadium
Cincinnati at Atlanta 8:00 pm ESPN Georgia Dome
St. Louis at Cleveland 8:00 pm FirstEnergy Satdium
Washington at Tennessee 8:00 pm LP Field
Denver at San Francisco 9:00 pm Candlestick Park
Seattle at San Diego 10:00 pm NFL Network Qualcomm Stadium

I’m going to the 'Stick tonight. Normally I just give away my preseason tickets but this is the last year of the most beautiful football stadium to ever grace the NFL with its presence, so I’m going to every single game there this year. Plus, this could be a preview of the Super Bowl.

Frankly, I’m not on the Denver bandwagon like many seem to be. Fuck Peyton Manning. He’s like a rich man’s Matt Ryan, meaning that you put him into the second half of a big game and he’s guaranteed to start looking around frantically for the biggest cock to choke on.

The last time I looked forward to the NFL season so much was 1989. And what a year 1989 was for 49ers fans…

How old are you? I didn’t really start paying attention to football until the later 90’s in my late teens.

Really felt bad for Alexander as well, the guy finally strung together a few games showing his real ability, and he gets hurt ,again. I was hoping the Jets would go after him…in retrospect I am happy they didnt

Ogden in high school. Good lord, I’d shit my pants to see that rolling my way.

I’m 33 and started going to games at the 'Stick in the '84 season. My first distinct memory about football that involved actually being aware of what was going on in the game was when I saw Jim Burt knock Montana the fuck out in the '86 playoffs. I was devastated and was convinced Montana was going to die.

My parents used to throw SB parties but I didn’t really care to watch football until I was in my teens either…

You remember a ball game from when you were 5 or 6? I can’t remember shit-all from when I was 5 or 6. Your drug/alcohol history described in other threads must have been grossly exaggerated.

I remember everything. I’ll remember you questioning me. I remember our avatar bet, too, so don’t think I’m going to forget.

And I was 7 when Burt knocked out Montana. I even remember going to the barber with my mom earlier that week and getting my hair cut like Joe Montana.

So, one Wednesday night around 11:00 p.m., circa fall of 1991, like we usually did, me and a few buddies wondered into Panamas after our ski team meeting to enjoy a few Texas teas. The place was mostly empty, except for a few people sitting at a table tucked away in the back, kinda in the dark.

After a few teas, one of my buddies whispers, "hey, over in the corner, isn’t that Joe Montana?’ And I replied, “You mean that guy sitting next to Steve Young?” So he giggles and says, “Yeah,” “watch this.”

He was a bit in the bag, and stumbles over to their table, and points at Montana with a boyish look of wonder on his face, and stammers, “aren’t you, . . . aren’t you, . . . aren’t you, . . . Steve Bono?”

Man oh man, Montana looked pissed, but Steve Young almost fell out of his chair laughing. It was fucking brilliant.

True story.
